Well, step one of diagnosing any problem is to rule out nutrient deficiency, which is unlikely in a legume, however a nice shot of fertilizer would be a good way to rule out color problems. Second, we don't know any of the specifics around how your plants are doing, other than that you sprayed them. How long have they been out in the sun, did you start them there, or are they trans plants? What is your soil like? is it rich or depleted clay? or something else? Why did you spray them? Leaf weavers? did you apply it at the proper rate? (I FREQUENTLY have a problem of overapplying... not trying to judge others by myself, just sayin)

Every year, I plant pole beans (Fortex). They come up looking beautiful, they grow to abundance. I get more green beans than I can deal with. However, at some point, the leaves start looking sun bleached, they get this rusty color and will eventually start looking like yours. It never harms production, so I just shrug it off. It's hard to tell how mature your plant is from the photo. Is this toward the beginning of your growing period or the end? Mine don't start yellowing and drying to that extent until they are nearly done producing. But when they do get toward the end of the season, that's what they look like. Galina, the English version of the Ingegnoli site is inoperational at present, and my Italian is very limited... do you know if they will ship to the U.S.? I know that for some time, the restrictive phyto-sanitary requirements discouraged many Continental seed companies (and even some Canadian companies) from shipping here. As you have stated, the information we have in the U.S. is not always current. I know that the regulations for entry of seeds to the U.S. have relaxed somewhat recently (although there are signs that this is only temporary). To your knowledge, are there many European seed companies that will ship here by mail? If you could name any - even just those you know of in the U.K. - it would be of great help to many U.S. gardeners here on GW. Thank you for the listing of additional European seed saving organizations. As a member of SSE, I freely acknowledge that they tend to think of themselves as the center of the seed-saving universe [grinning sheepishly]. While there may be some degree of legitimacy to that claim (based upon the many similar organizations that they have inspired worldwide) they are certainly not the only player on the field, and perhaps not even the first. If I were you I would leave them be and not worry for a bit...every year when my beans come up, I swear there is something wrong with them and every year they do well.
