Appliances Design Dilemma

Appliance Help?

I am choosing appliances for new construction. There are a lot of savings right now with 4th of July sales. Could anyone advise me on if Big box stores like Home Depot and Lowes carry the same exact products on range tops, oven, refrigerators etc. They have the same exact model numbers as they do if ordering directly from an appliance store. GE, Cafe, Kitchen Aid.

MY advice is never buy all appliances from one maker there is no maker that makes everything well and get plain ols stainless for sure and then no matter what brand they will all work together . Think about how you use every appliance and get the ones that work for you. IMOa sale is only a sale if what you are getting meets your criteria,

^Good advice from PC. Don’t get stuck on certain brands since they ALL have negative reviews. Choose each one individually based on how they fit your needs. For example, you could find a KitchenAid fridge you like, but maybe prefer a Bosch dishwasher. Stainless will look fine from brand to brand. The ss appliances in our kitchen are all different brands.

Look at the TOTAL cost of the kitchen, then decide for yourself Wolf/SubZero are also offering a promotion with the 48" range and refer. IMO, Miele is the best dishwasher but Bosch is popular. Try to stay towards the upper end of Bosch.

I bought a set of Thermador appliances a couple of months ago but was left disappointed. The oven on the gas hob wasn't working, and they made us contact an outside repair representative. The repairman came to our house 3 times replacing parts but failed. I demanded a new appliance but was refused. Very disappointed and would never recommend their products to anyone. I advise you to buy appliances from another manufacturer. By the way, you will need a lot of extra equipment in your kitchen, such as a jar crusher, which you can buy at https://www.amazon.ca/HomeBuddy-Can-Crusher-Recycling-Aluminum/dp/B08D6QV6B5

I have a Jenn Air 36” with griddle. The griddle is great, and the clean up is wonderful and it still looks brand new. You only use water to clean it. The burners are great too. The oven has its ticks, some uneven heating and it gets very hot, but overall it’s a great range.

Cancel the order with your credit card and find better alteenatives. Given the service nightmare issues many peoole have with those 2 brands AFTER delivery, you will actually be better off in the long run despite the understandable frustrayion you have currently had to endure..
