Am having it with tonic and lemon. There’s also a french 75 riff that uses it. Yummy
Love the Hendrick’s ad picture, but I just don’t much care for Hendrick’s. I keep it on hand for guests.
I need to try that Elderflower Collins!!
I wish they would sell the more exotic flavors in airplane bottles so I could taste without going all in on a big bottle.
Oh, that looks amazing! The bottle and the booze. Ordering now. Will have tomorrow. Won't drink it by tomorrow mind you ;-)
Raspberry and blackberry, oh my.
Just didn't think it through and now look what I got.
Is Christmas dinner formal or informal
Grumbling about "stated dimensions"
OK, I'll try it too.
Is there any left? I’m coming over.
Hide your cats and booze! I’ll leave with both. :D
I’m a gin drinker. And I love a French 75, but I can’t imagine this one. I’m looking forward to hearing all the reviews.
Local, is it sweet?
Ok, so I’m not averse to a little sweet. I really didnt think it sweet at all. Many cocktail recipes using it, add simple syrup.
I definitely didnt love it at first sip. But third sip, yep that was definite infactuation
@Jinx you cannot have my cat. I will make you lots of cocktails, and feed you pie and foccacia bread.
I’m not averse to sweet either. May have to try it.
Have you ever tried Tanqueray Rangpur? Makes a great G & T.
Thanks @bbstx I'll look for it. Tis the season for G&Ts on the deck. This is what we are drinking now(when not Brambling) , Silent Pool. It's lovely.
Oooh… localeater, I love that bottle! I’ll have to see if my favorite bartender, DSIL, can get it.
SeattleMCM, I’m like you. I’ve never bought flavored gin. I didn’t even know they made it, except for the Tanqueray Rangpur and I wouldn’t really call it flavored. Just a little hint of lime.
DD is taking some medicine long-term that does not agree with alcohol. She bought some non-alcoholic gin. She says it is okay. Makes a drinkable mocktail but doesn’t really taste like gin.
I am not a gin drinker (thanks to an unfortunate night in 1986-- involving a bottle of gin, tonic chasers and David Bowie's Five Years playing over and over) ... but that bottle of Silent Pool is beautiful! Gift worthy!
Loving all these ideas of new gins to try! I'm pretty sure I can find the Tanqueray Rangpur, but I'm also going to look for the Bombay Bramble!
Side note: Why can I not find any club soda right now?!
Have you tried Hendrick's gin? I've really liked their Midsummer Solstice. I would like to find some of their Lunar. I am kicking myself for not picking up the Neptuna at the liquor store the other day. My state is pretty controlling of alcohol so it can be difficult to find more rare or unusual liquors.
I really enjoy an Elderflower Collins (essentially a Tom Collins with St Germain).
I wish I liked Hendrick's. The bottle is lovely. But I need a gin that tastes more strongly of juniper berry, unless I am trying something unusual, like the berries above.
@Zalco/bring back Sophie! I can see what you mean. I haven't tried more of the flavors and usually I do Tanqueray or Beefeater, but I really enjoyed the unique flavor of the Midsummer Solstice. What gin do you like? I really love the juniper berry flavor so I'd love to try anything recommended that has a good strong juniper flavor.
prickly, This is the best I have found so far, Sipsmith London Dry Gin.
Thank you for the recommendation! I will try to find it in the stores here. Hoping the state run stores offer it.
Based on your recommendation, Localeater, I'm sipping the Bramble gin right now with tonic and a squeeze of lemon. It is a delicious gin option! Although I may prefer a regular ol' G&T with lime. I was able to find an airline bottle at our local Bev Mo - I think it's a national chain? - for tasting purposes. They have a whole wall of tiny bottles behind the checkout counter. I also noticed there is a small bottle attached to the Bombay Sapphire bottles in the gin section of the store. Thanks for posting about it!
I’m glad you tried it Bluebell.
Some of these are new to me. We have a Hendricks, but not those. I may have to try the Bramble.
We made big fuss over getting Empress Gin one year at the holidays before it was widely available - had to play a short hopscotch game to get it here -- and order another bottle for the friend who helped. It is colored with blue butterfly pea flower and changes color when you add acidity. Fun stuff. I like it, but DH veers more traditional or with cucumber flavors.
