I agree it is definitely a very formal set, and I'm not sure if I could fit it with the rest of the house, given I intend to have a more "casual" or "relaxed" feel in the adjoining rooms. I love the look of formal sets, but the rest of the house would be very informal. I'm not sure eclectic is the exact match, but I said that because I've been going through interior design photos the past few weeks, and all the ones I'm drawn towards have all been labeled "eclectic". I have 0 eye for design, though, so I would not go down the eclectic route, as I would definitely hit "tacky and bold" as you mention. Maybe my style is more transitional, but with a bolder color palette and a few older-style pieces, like antique-looking armchairs? I haven't pinpointed the common theme in what I like yet, but the "eclectic" (or whatever they really are) homes feel more "homey" to me, whereas modern just feels too staged for me personally. Looking through more pictures, I really like the legs in this set and the comfiness of the chairs, but I don't like the drapes, painting, or chair fabric/pattern - And I think the tables in these look really interesting, but I'm not a huge fan of anything else in the rooms -

First of all, I love the wet bar. I have one by my desk and it’s wonderful to have tea, coffee, water nearby. Your guests will also appreciate it - leave a bottle of wine, wine glasses and snacks out for them. A good quality sofa sleeper can sleep guests, provide seating, and will give you more space while you’re using the room as an office. Add side tables and lamps, it will be a nice place to read too. Place your cabinet on the far wall that doesn’t have a window and float your desk in front of it. The sofa can go on the opposite wall, near the entry. Place your keyboard under the window opposite the wet bar and roll your office chair over when you play. If you don’t need the ceiling fan, a beautiful light fixture can be swagged above your desk.

Normally matching painting to siding is the way to go. But since you have dark brown brick there halfway up garage, in this case paint garage door to match brick/roof. Don't paint the brick. A bright front door as suggested would draw attention to that side of the house. Down the road, as budget allows expand garden beds on the right for the same reason. I find this front elevation very busy. When I compare the OP's home with the one where two materials are combined nicely, I see alternating whole *sections* of the second home, each clad entirely in one material or the other. I see no fussy returns on the guttering or extra 'detailing' on the windows. The brick is a solid color, not a busy comination of shades. If you want two materials, I'd like to see them all around the house, not only in front.
