Paint Exterior Home Decorating

exterior paint suggestions w pink brick

Trying to decide if I paint my trim a darker color like SW Anonymous or SW Pavestone and doors SW Black Fox w bronze gutters…is that enough to update VS painting house including brick a warm white w light taupe trim?

I have new stone on steps and flower beds. I am not sure my style will look good brick painted since I can’t have shutters?? Need suggestions to pull it all together! Thanks!!!

Are the windows staying white? I prefer the middle sample shown. The house is quite nice as it is.

The thing that looks off to me is the dormers. It might be the photo angle. I wonder what the cost of eliminating them is compared to painting? I think that and painting all of the trim and windows a color similar to the door would go a long way in grounding the house.

Yes--I would LOVE to have a pink front door--think it would fit the design spot on but husband thinks (although he won't say it) that pink houses are too effemiminent....Works better to have something not pure white because of the irrigation water blowback...

You could try it without shutters, if that is allowed. If not, black Or sage green Either would be beautiful :) I'm sorry I don't have specific colours to suggest.

I also love the brick as is. I think the black porch posts and wood trim is too heavy for the brick and limestone. It seems to accentuate that the scale of the porch is a little tall in relation to the height of the roof. I would prefer lighter color for that wood trim-maybe slate gray or lighter, or a dark taupe.

The brick is glorious! The muddy roof and glaring stark white garage door is a much bigger problem than the brick. Neutralize that garage door with a grey pulled from it, and replace the roof with a charcoal, then reassess.

I don't understand the need to "update". You house looks great. It's not going to look more "updated" whatever you do, unless you pour tons of money into following the latest trend, so your house will be outdated in 10 years.

Don't paint the brick. It's lovely.
