I checked your pics, the flowers look like QE but that's definitely not QE. Like Pete said, she's got some big stout, thorns that dig deep gouges in your skin rather than your standard bloody scratches. You'd know her if you met her...

Celeste, Lovely! I've visited it twice, once in the spring and it is a worthwhile trip. You really hit a good time because when I visitd it in the spring, tt was not quite so floriferous. I don't think it is Veilchenblau either; too dark but oh so spectacular. My Veilchenblau is much lighter and more of a mauve gray. I found it frustrating that so many of the roses, especially the old ones are not labelled. The old story; not enough help and budget crunches. Thanks for the lovely pics. Will have to go again in the spring. Jim

O anything but Sally! lmao! That name always reminds me of that movie.."Sally, Sally, we want you Sally" lol. what the heck was the name of that movie..where the man and woman move into a new house, and the little creatures come up from the depths in the basement..she's in the shower and they shut off the light..that part was what got me when I was a kid..I always thought there'd be a critter in the medicine cabinet ready to shut off the lights on me, lol. I thought it may have been 'Trilogy of Terror' with Karen Black, but now I don't think so.. Someone tell me, cuz its gonna drive me nuts. Rigo, if you read this, do you know? I know you like horror movies too..if no one answers i may have to start a new thread to ask, lol.

Well, whatever it is Aamir, it's beautiful! Here's a couple of pics of my ELIZABETH HARKNESS. As you can see, she can also get some apricot-ish hues as well as the light pinks. She's a beautiful rose, but for me, she tends to end up with brown edges or she gets badly eaten by bugs. I haven't sprayed my roses for over 7yrs, but I'm seriously beginning to think I need to do so once in awhile. There just are certain roses that are more prone to bugs and disease.... and the whitish blends are some of the worst!
