Countertop remodel-- butterfly sink help

What I would like to do.
I have a butterfly sink (hate it) want to keep the sink in the corner but would love to do straight sink (normal) instead. I was hoping to be able to keep the sink where it is since we have windows and don't want to move the sink to a different location. I am wondering what are my options with this because the contractors only tell me to move it and re-plumb etc.

Comments (11)My first choice for a counter top is either quartz or granite. Since I couldn't find anything I liked I puchased stock laminate counter top from Menards, but I'm not sure of the name. My intention is to live with this counter top until I find something I love. (most granite yards are hours away.) I was going to use this copper sink as an drop-in and change it to an under mount when the new counters were installed. I just spoke to a rep from Copper Sinks Online and I've decided not to install the copper sink at all, until the new countertops are installed. Now, it's back to the lumber yard! Comments (9)We have a patterned floor - I guess it'd be considered patterned, anyway. It's a brown toned tile, a bit similar to the floor in the first picture in this thread. Our cabinets are kind of interesting - rustic hickory, which has a fair amount of contrast with the dark toned knots, the lighter straight grained wood, and all. The tropical brown helps to tie it together...I think I would have been afraid of something solid colored - every crumb would be visible! I'm a good housekeeper, but I'm going to obsess enough as it is, keeping that granite perfectly clean! Maybe I have no sense of design. I don't know. Comments (94)Every choice has pluses and minuses, in the end you have to choose which plus and which minus matters the most to you and/or which have an easy fix (like using a cutting board under the crockpot; at work we have an extra piece under the big coffeemaker). budget mattered a lot to me (and I hated formica) so, I ended up with a lesser expensive granite and am very happy, no sealing or extra work for the stone I chose. I had formica previously which looked like h#*! from the day I moved in and didn't get better (except that I could use bleach to remove stains) so those of you whose formica looks like new after 30 years must be taking appropriate care -- using cutting boards (mine had little cuts all over) and so forth -- where my previous owners did not. But, I read that formica now is much better quality than what was installed 30 or 40 years ago. I looked at Burled Beach and liked it. It looked a warm sand-ish color on my samples in my house, but I saw a demo kitchen of it at a big box store and it was a warm greenish tone (I still liked it) under their fluorescent lights. You always have to ability to STOP and make changes unless the cabinets are all already made. If he is just now starting it might not be too late -- call him now! PS do you have an IKEA near to you? Comments (42)for the handles, may I suggest something to pick up on the hues in the flooring? A little more copper toned. you have light cabs, light floors. I think throwing in a dark ORB w/o actual copper highlights would be too much of a contrast. IMO. cypress park Sandra, I like the porcelain one better than the other one. Does the backsplash have to be done immediately? If the tones in the porcelain tile you picked clash w/the ivory tones in the counter, it could be a problem. However, I did find some copper toned ones that should be avail. these are porcelain/SS, and treated so as not to stain or tarnish. I LOVE these for your kitchen. timeless and gorgeous. last yearYou might be able to use the existing cabinet but the front would have to be reworked and you will need a new sink and countertop. Depends on your budget and if you can find a skilled carpenter to take on such a small job.

last yearOr move it all to the left or right. The water lines and drain pipe would be very easy to extend underneath, they wouldn't be much longer.
You would have plenty of elbow room to the left. You could put a dish rack or drain board there to fill in the corner space.
Similar to this, but yours could be closer to the corner since (unlike this kitchen) you have more elbow room in the corner.

last yearyour bottom cabs are at a completely diff angle than your insporation picture. It's not going to look the same.
I'd wait until you can afford to do the countertop and then maybe some modifications can be made to have a fully inset corner sink. right now w/the 90 degree angle, it won't work.
Right now, you could get these sinks and they would accomodate your lowers.
Ideally you want this modification when you can afford to do so
