Silestone 'leather' versus Ceasarstone 'honed' maintenance
Comments (14)I have Caesarstone in a honed finish. The color has been discontinued (sadly), but it is a sandstone-type color. Regarding the "metal marks" mentioned above -- if a metal pan is dragged across the surface, it leaves a dark mark. I have AllClad pans in the "Master Chef" finish, which is a matte aluminum exterior. This may be more prone to leaving marks than a polished stainless, for example. My countertop fabricators left me with a can of Ajax when they did the counters a few years ago, and advised me to use it whenever there was any kind of staining on the countertop. I have done so, and it is 100% reliable at removing any marks, including these metal marks as well as ink (from a grocery bag). It's really not something that I worry about at all, and I *love* my honed counters. Now I'm making some changes in the kitchen, and since my color has been discontinued, I'm faced with replacing my counters. Caesarstone has fewer honed colors now, and it's very disappointing because I hate the way that polished surfaces reflect my lighting....See MorePrices for Granite vs Ceasarstone vs Marble
Comments (2)It depends on the granite or marble chosen. Some are relatively inexpensive, and others (the ones I usually fall for) are a fortune. Caesarstone is not inexpensive, but can be less than many stones....See MoreVOTE- Island top- ceasarstone or granite

Comments (36)@Stacie Holden-Rivers thanks for all the info! I happen to be looking at similar color combinations using white and off white together. from what I see in the your pix, looks like the tile is stark white vs the off-white brick? we are also doing a major kitchen reno..appreciate the offer for the black tempal, but we live in NC. when I was at a fabricator the other day, I commented that I wanted to quartz for ease of cleaning with windex...I received a very negative response telling me to never do that! just mild soap and water! I was also told this when we installed marbe and would make a diluted spray fo dawn and water..but have mostly given that up now too. can you share which brick you used? thanks again! @joseph_corlett thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with me. sooo helpful. I had read in one thread that someone had the Casearstone Oxidan and noted that the finish/process on that one and Black Tempal were the only two with that particluar finish/process. are you aware of that being an issue or reasons for concern? is it the black that tends to show more fingerprints? when I search for other dark quarts, for example Daltile Broadway Black, I do not find concerns about the fingerprinting, etc. thanks you agian for sharing yoru expertise...See MoreStacie Holden-Rivers
