need a starting place for my bathroom redo
Comments (5)Hi Nasancheyev, I also live in DC and am renovating a bath for a rental in which I might move to in about 4 years. I like this wall-mounted sink cabinet from Ikea but am concerned about tenants not wiping up the wet marks per Ikea's instructions. Are you concerned about using particleboard in a bathroom? I posted this question on the boards earlier today; I need to check to see if anyone posted. Let's stay in touch! Comments (16)Then maybe shift the W/D to next to the window which gives the toilet more room to face the way it was. Put the shower next to the door with a narrow linen closet separating it from the W/D. Maybe add a stackable small laundry closet there and still have a very large closet. In both of these cases, it seems like the w/d would cover up a window, which I was hoping to avoid. It's a row home with other taller buildings around it, so I like to keep as much light as possible. Do you think it's worth covering up the window anyway? It is more inconvient, disruptive and expensive to change your toilet location in reality. I didn't actually move the toilet flange location, I just rotated the toilet and changed it to a 14 inch rough-in instead of the 10 inch version I currently have. (Specifically looking at the Kohler Wellworth Classic Five.) My cursory googling seemed to indicate this was ok. Is that a bad idea? If you had a spacious well layout bath you might find your closet is no longer your favorite room, I sure did. The shoes and bags live in the closet, so I don't think that's ever going to change! Haha! :)...See MoreNeed help picking tub for bathroom renovation

You are looking for a very standard size tub but I would suggest hubby goes to test drive they certainly are not all comfortable. I like Maax tubs I use them often for clients too....See MoreOn Suite 80's bathroom renovation
Comments (15)How about... Widen shower to 36-40" wide, filling floor up is no problem... Toilet to rotated so backed up to wall between shower and this new WC, and this slides into the current mirrored vanity space...this is walled into a WC with a (louvred) pocket door that slides toward the shower, allowing the light/fan switch to be on the wall to the right when you slide the door open... The space beyond the WC, into the corner above the current sink is a linen/storage/vanity supply closet...or a small seated level vanity with storage and a mirror for the young lady... 180 degrees from this is the vanity with sink, taking up the upper half of the mirrored slider closet... The remainder of the mirrored slider closet becomes a hanging closet or storage closet accessed from the bedroom directly... The main closet gains about a foot into the current walkway and moves the doorway onto the bedroom wall, mirroring the other door across the entry to the bathroom (into the remaining part of the old mirrored slider). The only real plumbing change is the toilet moving, and the sink moving is as easy as taking the current back into the wall (we hope) and around inside the new wall to rotate the position of the sink....See MoreAngel 18432
