Some Seedlings From This Week

last year

Here are a few seedlings blooming over the past few days:

Pink Aloha X Old Time Italian #2 - This is the second year this one has shown as a bitone.

Coco's Curiosity X Sexy Samantha 1

The Inimitable seedling blooming later than it normally does.

Dancing Flamingo x Hannah Marie today

Dancing Flamingo X Hannah Marie about a week ago. Notice the change in form. It always looked more like a UF last year.

Carolina Pale Face X Dearest Valentine #2

This is my friend Lyshack's seedling that I am using for hybridizing.

Perseus' Sandals x Jumping Jack Flash at 7:30 p.m. after a 98-degree day. The petals showed almost no fading at all. The difference is in the throat, which starts out very green in the morning and ends up yellow in the evening. I'm excited because this one has a couple of rebloom scapes coming for the first time ever. That moves it one step closer to registration.

Hey guys, this is the seedling post that disappeared. It just reappeared at 8:41 p.m. Fri. I'm glad I don't have to reconstruct it!

Do you think becsuse of the S. Samantha? I think you have said in the past Houzz has censored that!!

These seedlings are really really pretty-again! The S, Samantha has a great edge. The Dancing Flamingo has wonderful color. But the Perseus Sandals seedling obviously has some really good attributes, importantly keeping that dark color!

Those are all very nice with the last one being my favorite. I like it when the form is very even like all of these are. I have some, (Becky Lynn and Buttered Popcorn come to mind) where it looks like a tongue hanging out. And while I love BL and BP, I prefer the uniform look. Vickie

Yes Jasmine MM is a mini rose. Some people on the Forum believe that it's actually ABRACADABRA. But even tho ABRACADABRA is a small rose, I don't believe they are the same. My Japanese maples don't usually put out this much color. It's been a really different kind of fall here this yr. Much more colorful than most other yrs that I can remember. And they started turning color later in the season too. My neighbor's big pistachio tree just last week started to turn yellow. It's several weeks later than normal. And my young pistachio tree never got really colorful until this yr. I'm really enjoying the colors all around town.

Oh, nice garden shot! So many others I like too. Jonxy, armed for Battle, Aaron Brown, Kingdom Without End, well I could keep on going, but don't think I forgot Jerry! Rock Solid is such a great plant, I would keep it even if I did not like the flowers. I did not do as well this summer because I divided it this spring. Bloomed well, but usually I many fans have 3 scapes each, others have 2 unless they are just small fans. The best performer in my garden.

Kate - It was likely S. Samantha that caused the hold-up. I did the post late at night when I was tired, and I didn't catch myself writing the real word in the name.

So many bitone seedlings, i really like them all! The Perseus Sandals seedling definitely looks promising. If I remember correctly that is a few years of great performances.

Sherry - I did put a lot of bitone seedlings on this thread. Most of them are not actually bitones. It's the heat that is bleaching the sepals. I can't remember if this is the third of fourth year for Perseus' Sandals seedlings. It has always performed pretty well. The past two summer have been cooler than normal, so I did not notice the sunfastness until this year.
