Help!! Danby marble counters with BM White Dove Cabinets?

12X15 Whole kitchen remodel--L shaped kitchen with a 24X80 inch island

Thinking of BM White Dove inset modified shaker cabinets with Danby marble countertops. My question is--will white marble be too stark for the softer white that is White Dove?

House is a colonial and my taste is more transitional.

Thank you SO MUCH!

****UPDATE: Went to a stone yard today and discovered Danby Imperial Marble and FELL IN LOVE! Can anyone comment on this with BM White Dove cabinets in a West facing kitchen? Thanks again and again!

Which Danby?

This is Imperial Danby and quite warm in color. Photo when I was looking for a fireplace surround that would work with the gold foil wallpaper. Ended up choosing something that wasn't so busy, but the slabs were really nice.

Pick the slabs first and then pick the best white paint to go with them.

Why not pick the countertop FIRST, and then the paint color for the cabinets? much easier that way. Dnby varies. greatly.

Plus, I wouldn't use White dove for the cabinets. To me that color is dingy. There are better options.

Simply White,

Oxford White,

Alabaster.

Ivory white is not Acadia white. Ivory white #925 is in the Classic colors fandeck and Acadia white #OC38 is in the Preview colors fandeck. They are very close in color. jbrodies' kitchen that was recently posted as finished has cabinets in Acadia White. Here's a pic of ours while being remodeled. We're not quite done yet, but you can get an idea of the Ivory White color. The wall next to the cabinet has been primed so it is white in color and you can see the Ivory white next to it has a bit of yellow creaminess to it. My hutch top is walnut so you can see it next to brown. Also, I have a lot of natural light in my kitchen, during the evening the cabs look even more creamy. I think either color would look great with Tropical Brown.

The whites are funny, in that they are always whiter than you think from the chip. If you want a brighter white look, go with the White Dove. Some beautiful bright white kitchens to check out are rmkitchen, redroze (BM Chantilly Lace as paint). If you are looking for a softer look, take a look at these kitchens: SW Creamy (sprice5105 just posted today) or BM Linen White (dlspellman just posted), SW Almond white (Jen4268 kitchen), BM Lancaster Whitewash (mamadadapaige has her cabinets this color). No problem, and thank you! Our kitchen was previously a garage so it really came a long way! It was quite the renovation. Our cabinet doors are from Semihandmade. I’m not sure whether they would be standard or full overlay. The doors and drawers completely cover the cabinet frame though. Our countertops are a white quartz, and our backsplash is a marble subway tile. All goes very well with BM White Dove and Natural Cream!

In response to the most recent posts (not trying to respond to the original from 3 years ago) - Winds Breath is more yellow in hue than green (in terms of the actual color) so if it looks green it is possibly reflecting green from some source (like if there's a lot of greenery outside the window) or it has to do with lighting. White Sand definitely has yellow in it - not "undertones" per se but the hue family is yellow. Every neutral belongs to a hue family so perhaps you need to find a cool white or gray? The conundrum I think for you is that if you want a soft, off-white those are yellow in hue. Sherwin Williams Icicle is a cool very light gray if you're trying to get away from yellow and green. Below is a link is to a great resource. Unfortunately, a year or so ago when I was using the information to choose paint colors there was more free info available that now requires a subscription. A good number of paint colors are analyzed though. If you have the patience you can get away from all the subjective information you see online about undertones with this system - it takes the guesswork out of the equation. Land of Color

The Danby is Olympian--polished for island and honed on the perimeter. Thanks again for your help!

We have Danby with BM Simply White. Works well together.

I would do both the island and perimeter with the same finish. I don't think it would look quite right with a mix of honed and polished.

I have a honed marble island and honed soapstone perimeter.
