A big thanks to those of you who answered my query. : ) If it seems like the "regulars" are the ones who use the Gallery that is because we are continually trying to keep this forum running as smoothly as possible for all users, regardless of their internet capabilities or the time they spend on this forum. We are not being inclusive - we've just spent many years here and know what works best in the long run - for everyone. It's not about the needs of the many at the expense of the few, especially considering that those "few" have giving a lot of their time and knowledge to making this forum one of the best on GW. I'd also challenge anyone who may think the "regulars" are inclusive to check out the posts from new folks. You will always find the regulars posting a great big Cottage welcome. And we sincerely mean it. : ) Now back to the pic posting problem. I'd suggest we use this forum as it is set up, regardless of what other forums do. This is about what works best for this forum, which as I have said repeatedly, is a much busier forum than most so its needs will be different. Discussions for asking questions, answering questions, sharing gardening experiences and if any pics are included, keep them a reasonable size and relative to the post. Gallery for sharing a large number of pics, comment on them, ask questions about them, but don't add additional pics unless the OP has specifically asked for them, such as "Show me your _____". Conversations is for everything non-garden related but gardening is not actually excluded since that's what most of us dig doing. : ) Now for those of you who would like to see things done differently, why not ask GW for the changes you desire. Perhaps they will agree and take away the other two forums. I for one hope they look at the past half dozen years and see how well the three forums work when used properly and with respect to all users. But they may not and you'll get your wish to have everything dumped in one place. This will in turn lead to posts ending up on page 2, 3, 4 . . . Comments (26)Hi Mountains, Ken actually clarified my original post. The ammonia bath is not a preventative, but rather a direct contact. When the 10% solution hits the slugs and slug eggs they die on contact. I mix up the solution in a bucket to make sure I have enough room for proper proportions, and also because I usually end up needing 3-4 watering cans worth. Once mixed, fill up your can and water the pots like you would normally. Make sure to cover all exposed areas of the soil. The reason I prefer to do this in spring is the hostas are not beginning to leaf out yet. Some people say the solution won't burn leaves, others think it does. I'm too scared to find out, so I stick to before they have leafed. I added the 2-3 inches in my original description to make sure readers understood this is more for the soil than contact with the plant. The depth doesn't matter so long as you make sure you killed what will mostly be at the surface. The link that Tim posted for the hanging gardens recommends using a similar solution only with raw garlic for when the leaves are fully emerged. I plan on trying this, this year. Hope this helped clear up any confusion and thanks for posting. Stay long enough and you might not be able to get away. We're quite the enablers. I do like pink. Here's an outfit I used to wear:
Pants made in Brazil, plastic shoes from Greece, belt from women's dept of Neiman-Marcus Houston, pink and gold lamé socks and shoe laces from The Funny Farm in San Francisco. 4 years agoI'm not a fan of pink generally, but for some reason that pale warm pink that's near beige is attractive to me...could do a room in it....
And of course flowers can come in whatever shade of pink they want and look absolutely stunning.

l pinkmountain. in 1981, my natural hair color was auburn, but I dyed it medium ash brown to get rid of the red tones and the gray. By the time I was 50, my natural color was ash blond, and so I stopped dying it.
This is one of my favorite pink flowers:
It is also one that I've had the longest, and I kept putting it in larger pots, allowing it to grow into a very large plant. The flowers are iridescent and almost gaudy because their colors are so intense.

Bbstx- I do not have an OPI color- but I have Sally Hansen ;^) If I pick a color at the salon and don't like it, you can paint over with a color you like. I have done this with both gel and dipped methods.
Make sure you Clearcoat on top ;^)

4 years agoAmylou, i didn't forget and wore this today. I love to wear pink as i think it flatters my skin tone. Hot pink too, but i don’t feel ’flashy’ and don’t wear that color much anymore unless it’s under a jacket.
My favorite garden color combo is purple, pink and white.

Bbstx, here are a few I have used. I can’t recall the name of the one I’m wearing now but it’s more of a pale dusty rose pink. Yeah, i’ve been on a pink toe polish kick lately.
