I would remove the shutters. The siding looks more off white/ecru than light green. I’d keep or repaint the siding if indeed it is pale green so the siding is a light warm off white and paint the brick the same color. Then I’d paint the trim a taupe/grey and re-stain the porch posts, lintels, and gable trim with a weathered grey/brown stain.

Do not paint the brick. Let new owners decide if they want to go from zero brick upkeep, to frequent upkeep/peeling/damage to bricks/house looking like every other house now.

As a buyer, I wouldn’t even consider a house with trendy painted brick, a permanent change.

In this market, and especially a lake house, I don’t think this house needs a big overhaul…. it's very pretty as is. I see no reason to make a bunch of changes — and spend time and money — without knowing the tastes of future buyers.

Also — gray is going out. Warmer colors are coming back. Only paint the siding and trim if it’s in bad condition.

Ohh boy! Too much colors and too much textures are going on there. I would eliminate some colors. Paint the brick if it is only in front, tone down cedar color.

Agreeable Gray is seems good color for your house.

As you can see, OP, people disagree on what looks good. And the idea of making permanent changes for future buyers (painting brick).

What if the brick turns out looking bad painted?

That’s why, for resale, I’d let future owners decide what they want to do. Print out some virtual mock-up ideas to show things they could do.

Or a little bit warmer . You can pick up some color from stones for siding and shutters.

I like that much better (you know me, I like warm tones!) … but still, the brick — that’s not showing it solidly painted. That shows nice color variations in the bricks.

If the OP paints the brick a solid color, it’s going to look very flat and bland, very unnatural, unless a highly experienced (and expensive) pro does some sort of magic on it. And painted and limewashed bricks can start to peel after a certain amount of time. That’s why I'd never buy a painted brick house, not having any idea how it was done, as well as not wanting the upkeep and possible brick damage.

Brick, to me, unless absolutely hideously ugly/cheap, is a set fixture to work around. I’m so baffled at this impulsive trend of just permanently painting over it to fit in with the trendy color scheme du jour.

Thanks everyone…loved all your ideas… we are trying to imagine an off white, using your ideas of changing everything “orange” to a brown (thank you Celery for showing us what that looks like.). I need to get an app that lets me do that. Could be beneficial to my business! ☺️
