Design Dilemma Remodeling Kitchens

Would love suggestions for layout of the kitchen pantry which is 5 ft wide by 3 ft deep

In case it’s helpful I have attached a sketch of the kitchen layout . The pantry is at the end of one of the walls. The entrance in front of the pantry will not be frequently used thoroughfare. We will usually enter through the family room which is open to the kitchen or through the entrance from the living room

IMO instaed of this get some true oullout pantries to fill that space . A 3' deep pantry is useless everything gets lost in the back You could do 2 30" wide 24" deep pullots there and have more and better storage if that is not possible then just make that cabinet 24" deep like the rest of the counter it will aslo look better . The sketch is not helpful since it does not show the whole kitchen

The house is beautiful as it is, I mean stunningly beautiful and I'm sure when the "sold" sign went up on it there were a lot of people who love modern homes that cried. In a spirit of honesty that only one netcitizen can say to another -- work with the house not against it. Or at least live with it for a while and see if you don't fall in love with it the way it is and then come up with changes that will enhance it instead of making it embarrassed to show it's face in public. I think the fact that you are a traditional girl who's fallen for a modern home has the makings of a really great love story -- but only if you can love it for who it is and not by trying to change to be something it's not and never will be.

Laundry. Pardon the blue tape. I was sealing the butcherblock. I know it's not great to use for a sink, but it was cheap and our countertop guy flaked out on us after doing the island top. I'm the only one who will use it and I'm careful. :)

I have never heard of a building code that would allow for removing the half walls on a porch - someone could fall off. I agree that you need someone to create plans that comply with building codes.

If you like to design spaces, I need your help! I have a plan laid out, but I'm curious to see what others would do in the same space. Here are the main reasons for the addition: current kitchen is far too small (9x10'11") - the 4 of us enjoy cooking and baking and we need more space for people and storage move the laundry up to the main floor from the basement create an entry/mud room for our family to come and go would like to have upright freezer on main floor too half bath on main floor The attached photos have the layout and our needs and wants on them. We're open to new ideas and suggestions. Thank you!! Exterior of house with addition area. Will have gray siding with white trim. Front porch windows and screen door will be removed so the porch is open. We're debating removing the half walls of the porch as well so the columns would be floor to ceiling. Thoughts?
