If your prescription glasses aren't uncomfortable, Kat...try wearing them with a clip-on. I wear Solar Shield clipons and would never be without them. They're rugged....which is a must for me because I'm not the gentlest human being when it comes to glasses. I'm literally not allowed outside without some eye protection these days...and the Solar Shield clipons are the best I've ever had through my many eons of clip-on wearing. I've linked their site below. I've had Crizal lenses and they are fabulous...as well as being fabulously expensive. Sigh. I'm currently getting my prescription glasses through BJ's and their light weight lenses are as good, if not better than the Crizal lenses that I had before. Plus they're about half [or less] the price of Crizal and I see no difference. Personally...I think it's a matter of advertisement snob appeal. LOL I just now clicked on your link for the anti-glare glasses...and remembered that my deceased husband had ordered and warn them. He was not impressed. He eventually changed to polarized clipons and was much happier with the sight results. The glare of the water is devastating to our eyes. I sailed for many years without eye protection and I'm sure it had a lasting effect on my eye sight...as well as contributing to my current macular degeneration. Although I have a genetic predisposition for it...mine started much later in my life [late 60's- early 70's] than it did with my father so perhaps my years of taking Lutein has helped. Not HAVING the clear glass pendant. Other than that, a frosted bulb. or an Edison which will keep you in the dark, and defeat the purpose of the lighting. The best lighting over an island is one that forces light down onto the counter. Meaning one with a shade. Yes the other options are aplenty. Just saying......you want to light the island top, not disperse glare everywhere. Glass cleaning should top the to do list. : )
