Should wet bar match kitchen cabinetry?
Comments (8)It is definitely clean and modern. Our kitchen has white cabinetry, white countertops, marble herringbone backsplash and more modern light fixtures. Most of our home is painted a very light grey (with a few rooms painted a soft aqua color). Our basement is on the smaller side and fairly dark as the only natural light is from a guest bedroom. I don't want it to feel cave like, which I'm afraid it might feel like with the dark espresso furniture that we'll be putting in it (it worked in our old home which had a walk-out basement and lots of natural light) ....See MoreAre wet bars still cool?
Comments (53)As far as "styling" goes...I would treat it like a bar cart..I don't put pictures on my bar cart, but I would like to see a couple of pictures on the wall above the top shelf of yours...something like this.. Whatever the main color in the pictures is, carry that through with a small vase of the same color flowers... I do have flowers and decanters and a couple of "good" glasses and a cocktail shaker and a kitschy ice bucket that I picked up from the goodwill of all places. I have some vintage swizzle sticks and I picked up some little paper umbrellas from Party City. Williams Sonoma has some really cute barware......See MoreBasement wet bar design ideas
Comments (2)I would not do tile on that wall at all it will be too much going on on that small wallIMO penny tiles do not belong in contempoary spaces and I think stainless shelves would be nice...See MoreTake out wood panels or paint? Drywall wet bar or create nook?
Comments (63)@Jennifer K Theres actually a large closet on the other side of that wet bar in the hallway to the left of the wet bar, I thought about closing off the wall and expanding the closet. I dont need space for a desk area at this point as the home has two butlers pantries, one of which I was going to turn into a little desk nook and a large room for a home office. My kids will have a desk setup in their bonus room as well. I thought about a reading nook but the kids want a treehouse in the backyard instead. My reasoning for the drywall was it’s the least expensive option and I think I need the wall space for hanging photos. I want to take my photo and photoshop out the wet bar and see how it’ll look!...See MoreJilly
