last year

My first this year and tasted wonderful... as only as fresh as a right-off-the-tree can taste. This is Petit Negra, an Italian black.

Darn tried the scratch and sniff test nothing then tried the grab it and taste again nothing.

Oh the pain of seeing such a nice fig knowing the bordeaux figs are wonderful tasting figs.

Thanks for posting the picture for some of us to drool over.

Look forward to future pictures.

Thanks, Laura, Marie, and Pagan! Yeah, i've developed a little bit of a social life but I may have to curb that as it distracts me from my adeniums! LOL Seriously just been having a lot of things going on. One of those in the group shot had a flower that was single layer red with a dark blue/black edging. Bloomingbulb.com currently has a 50% off pre-order sale for fall shipments of amaryllis. They don't have a stellar selection, but they do offer Graffiti for $4.28 a bulb. I haven't purchased from them before, so I can't speak to my experience with that company.

Hareball, I think I am just lucky with naturally good soil, I do use Miracle Gro sometimes too. I would like to experiment with fertilizers but just get so busy that they are lucky if the get a dose or two of MG throughout the season.

Martin, sorry I can't share. I just pick these... big and beautiful... like they should be:

I think I might try broiling a couple of the largest just to see how that tastes.

Back in my working days had a friend who used to dip them in chocolate oh were they delicious.

Have a vdb that is showing the figs later this season will taste a few bordeaux figs.

In this cold June Negronne ripen one fig, pretty tiny maybe 8 grams, to me it Negronne which is VdB type Taste's like black mulberry.
