Blue-Green concrete floor, cedar walls, honey oak cabinets...help!
Comments (37)Well, don't go break the bank on something that hands out radon, or cannot be effectively cleaned without a college diploma! A very nice countertop that is a solid surface, and just simply white will be very pretty. Keep it simple, Let your floor shine. Oak and cedar wood does go with green(I call yours' Emerald and Gold....not really Forest or Pine on my monitor) just take a walk in a park or maybe just in a Nature area. There is nothing prettier than wood and green grass with the colors of birds and butterflies around. Nature does not make mistakes...so I think the counters, and the appliances as they can(need is the only thing that moves mine out)be changed to white with your sink....will be a very pleasant transition, and be careful doing that drywall painting. Your floor and your wood and your counters will need some time and effort to be duly protected. Maybe that will sink and counter top will lead you to the right shade for your walls. There are alot to choose from in just the family of lites/ whites.....See MoreWall color to go with dark reddish wood (cherry?) cabinets
Comments (39)My feeling is that you may be in color overload. It is easy to get there, especially with the thousands of colors offered. Truth is out of all the colors there are really a handful of popular colors that work. There is a paint company called C2. They don't have a ton of stores, but you can order samples online. You don't need to paint your own samples - they sell huge samples ( 18" x 24" painted color samples (not printed paper). The samples are about $5 or $6 per sample.if purchased in a store, $9.00 online. They have smaller painted cards that run $1.00 online and are free in stores. Their full fan deck is only $50.00 They have a limited selection of colors, just the "Best in Class". Using EasyRGB to look up colors that are similar to Revere Pewter in Benjamin Moore Paints I get this: 10 colors with very little variance. Using the same program but looking for colors that are similar to Revere Pewter in C2 Paints I get this: 10 colors that are similar in depth of color but have quite discernibleundertones. You are pretty much guaranteed that one will look good with your cabinets and floors. More isn't always better. Sometimes it is simply more confusing. If I were you I would probably start with the lighter colors, closer to C2 Archival For $11.00 you can get the small paint sample of all 11 colors - pick the 3 you like best and for another $30.00 get big samples and make a final decision. Easy peasy done!...See MoreCabinet choice to complement oak trim and acacia flooring
Comments (7)If you're keeping the dark walls, use warm white cabinets with a solid white quartz countertop, maybe incorporating some green into the back splash. If you're painting the kitchen walls, you could use a grayed green or olive green on the cabinets, with a white countertop, to coordinate with the rest of the greens in your house....See More"AFTER PHOTOS" (scroll to bottom) Quartz countertop w/ maple cabinets
Comments (26)"AFTER PHOTOS" Countertops: Lusso by Silestone Backsplash: Bedrosians CLOE purchased at Lowes online Island Color: Iron Ore Sherwin Williams Sink: Blanco Precis 32" Undermount Silgranit Faucet: Delta "Grant" Satin Nickel After thoughts...We are very happy with the end result. We have had a number of friends come in and comment how much they love our new cabinets...which are not new. Overall the kitchen looks fresh and clean. I like the Iron Ore color of the island which usually reads as gray without any undertones. On my monitor my photo is showing a lot of blue. I'm not wild about the backsplash. It's too "cool" against the warm tones in the countertops. I think you can see it in the photos. I feel like I overthought the whole countertop selection. I think there would have been many that would have been great. We do love the Lusso. Looking for new bar stools or will repaint the green....See MoreFatheha Bibi
