Need ideas for replacing backsplash tiles
Comments (9)Oooooh, I like all the ideas above --- hadn't thought of those. I had saved some sites in my Favs for just this purpose. The POs had rubber duckies tiles here and there in the front bathroom and I was just going to cover them up with tile decals. That is, until we found there was a major leak behind the tub and the whole wall of tile ended up having to come out. But these sites had given me lots of ways I was going to cover up those yellow duckies and blue water tiles. I was even thinking about an 8-tile mural (some of these sites have mural decals) to cover the 'pond' tiles the duckies were waddling to. My apologies, I don't know how to make these clickable links. http://www.berlinwallpaper.com/covertile/ http://www.tiletransfers.co.uk/store/comersus_index.asp http://beldecal.stores.yahoo.net/waltilcerdec.html http://2jane.com/detail.aspx?ID=263 http://www.walldecorshops.com/grouptilestickups.html...See MoreReplace Granite Backsplash Between Counter Heights w/ Tile
Comments (6)There very well may be gaps that the splash is covering that the tile won't, however, you'll probably be able to float your wall to make it work. The differing height tops won't look odd with tile. Place a continuous shim the thickness of your grout lines on your main top to start tiling. Install the tile, grout, pull the shim, then fill the gap with color matching caulk....See MoreReplacing Backsplash & fresh new color
Comments (58)To all who replied to my post and sent me inspiration photos, suggested different tiles and sizes (Beth) :) I’ve decided to go with Loft Sand beach from Tilebar! It looks absolutely amazing in person and was the right color I was looking for! Not too light not too dark. No pink undertones or yellow. I can’t wait to get started on this project!!! A big thanks to all YOU! I’ve learned so much from this site the past few months! Thanks again !...See MorePaint Color and Back Splash help!
Comments (15)"is there an option to remove the 4" countertop backsplash?" It looks like granite from the photo, so there should be a seam at the angle where the backsplash meets the top of the counter. In which case it can be removed without taking off the whole thing. Using a bold color would help liven up the space. Something that accents the colors in the countertop. Then find a backsplash that works with them both. Or maybe something neutral in a texture tile to give it interest without add too many colors. Change out the hardware to match the color of new appliances, and consider changing the pendant lights to a modern fixture that matches as well. Best of luck!...See MoreConnecticut Yankeeeee
