Virginia, you made me remember when I purchased a soaker hose for use on hydrangeas, azaleas and camelliss. Hauled it and spent time putting it outside on a hot day. And God, overnite, some vermin split it in two. At first, I could not figure out why the hose did not work. Then I found puddles of water and found the problem. Grrrrr. I was so mad that I never bothered getting another one ( in case it happened again). I never figured out for sure if it was wild bunnies or something else.

You may also find it helpful to consider paint colour from a different perspective. Every grey paint is a knocked-back, greyed-out child colour of an identifiable, fully saturated Hue Parent. That information alone gives you useful detail about a colour. Knowing where within that Hue Family a colour sits can also give you an idea if you are potentially dealing with a colour which may hint more peachy or more greenish for example. And thirdly all the colours you mention are near neutrals and therfore far more susceptible to changes in light quality than their more saturated relatives. All have the potential to shift colour in imbalanced lighting. In order to know how each will behave it’s important to test carefully in your space with your light. See the Colorography Lab at The Land of Color for further info on some of these colours key attributes, so that you might be able to filter out some possibilities before sampling.

I have just had my walls painted. Now going to do the flooring. So glad I waited to do the flooring. The painting and new blinds make the rooms look so much brighter. Previously considered the Calypso oak before the painting and was hesitant. Does it have a warmer golden or honey cast to it. Pictures don't seem to be accurate. I need a lighter color don't want anything that is dark and going to show the dust etc. Some of the lighter colors looked washed out. Don't want a golden color either but would prefer it be a warmer look. Do you like the Calypso oak and is it easy to clean.

Some people like dark colors in bedrooms because they think it makes the room cozy. Others find dark colors to be oppressive or depressing. Neither person is right or wrong. The reason there are hundreds of different paint colors is because not everyone likes the same thing. The color the room is currently is similar to the color my bedroom is now, so I don't see anything wrong with it. But if you are tired of it and want to change it then by all means, change it. Paint is cheap when you DIY. However, I agree with the other commenters who said that instead of installing a feature wall you should invest in new bedding, lighting, a rug and possibly furniture. Your room is small relative to the rooms pictured in the inspiration pictures by the commenters, but if you have quality furnishings it could be quite lovely. Keep comfort and function in mind when deciding how to proceed.
