Comments (16)I love your Armoire and the idea of one for bathroom storage but I would worry about the steam. I like the shield mirror in the dark finish against the pale pink walls. It would easy to match that mahogany/cherry finish on your vanity with just a coat or two of MinWax Polyshades in a cherry or mahogany shade. it's a polyurathane fiinsh with a transparent glaze. I have used it to seal unfinished furniture and to darkened light wood finishes. just a light scuff sanding and cleaning needed on finished wood. try a few coat inside the cabinet door to see if you like it and need more than one coat. ( it took several coats on raw wood to get the deep shade I wanted.) It's lots easier than sanding priming and painting several coats to make that wood tone white. if you darken the vanity it will be easier to change the drawer hardware if you pick something that doesn't fit the current holes. We found our 1970s hardware was not a standard size when we redid our bath, that added wood filler and sanding to making new knobs work. You can add some decorative storage with a wall cabinet with towel bar on the wall next to the vanity since you don't have a medicine cabinet with that mirror. Even some open shelves with baskets or planter tins from dollar store can hide beauty supplies and be decorative. (pink depression glass candy dishes or apothocary jars?) Once you add some more color with linens ( deep rose and moss green florals?) the wall color won't be over whelming....See MorePlease help me choose a wainscoting for my den
Comments (15)Yes Kristen you are correct it’s only one style but the first style they only offer it on one wall and the second style would be applied to all 3 the paint would be grey from top to bottom including ceiling so I don’t think it would be too busy just had a hard time choosing, thank you all!...See MoreHelp! Comments (1)Stick masking tape along the front edge with a nice fold at the bottom to catch drips of super glue. Apply the thin type super glue, making sure you've got plenty of squeeze-out and that the missing section is filled completely. If you're in a hurry, spritz it with accelerator. Don't wipe the excess away; it acts as a lubricant when you're scraping the overfill. Scrape the overfill off with a Ceramic razor blade, which won't leave metal marks. Angle the blade at first, you don't want to pull your adhesive out of the nick. If you do, put a little more glue in and start over. The super glue will appear as a medium gray, but fortunately you have that in your top. You'll never be able to "unsee" this, so don't be too hard on yourself please. You'll probably be able to feel it, but polishing to flush isn't a DIY project. The best fix is to do the repair, then have a more rounded edge re-profiled and polished. Not only will most or all of the chip be eliminated, it will be less likely to chip in the future. Unfortunately, with this popular edge profile, this probably won't be the first time you'll do this....See Morehelp me style our den
