Hmmm....even bare root body bag roses from Walmart come with a label. At least they do here. These had no form of identifying label on them? The bags typically come with a photo of the flower and a name printed clearly on the outside.

Why do you not think any of these are hybrid teas?

Yes, the body bag said "Heirloom (JACloom)", but I think they were all mislabeled.

The mauve is definitely a hybrid tea, but the color is not "Heirloom rose". I thought I had only one mislabeled and the other two were correct but this year they bloomed pink and it has a quartered form, so I don't think that is the correct rose either. I am not sure if it is a hybrid tea or not, but the cluster has A LOT of buds for a hybrid tea.

Ahhh, I though you meant the vendor was Heirloom roses!! Having established it is the rose itself of that name, depending on the vendor/supplier, it/they could very well have been mislabeled. A lot of the mass marketed bare root roses sold at box stores, Walmart, etc. are second grade stock and these sorts of suppliers are equally as non-diligent about proper ID's and labeling as they are about selling quality products. You essentially get what you pay for.

Right, Kristine?!? but I only ever had a few mislabeled out of close to 150 rose bushes over the years, quite a few of them were body bag roses.

I don't mind the surprise and body bag roses generally do very well for me, over the years I only lost a handful to rabbits. They grow very well and bloom a lot, it's just not the correct rose and I would like to know what they are if anybody has an idea.

Thanks Ben, I had a feeling that could be Stainless Steel. The deep lavender is the same rose that opens into a quartered form, both bushes do, they start off dark and lighten into that quartered flower. I have Violet's Pride and it's this color and form in my garden. So, Dee-Lish was one of my guesses too, but isn't the flower more of a cupped shape before it opens? Thank you!

The first one could also be Lagerfeld. I am only thinking of that because I see Lagerfeld in body bags quite often. I think it is a beautiful rose what ever it is.

I have Lagerfeld, this one is paler and bigger blooms.

I think my pink rose might be "Summer Romance". The canes are like 6 feet though, but the shape and smell are like those described for SR.

Isnt it frustrating not to know for sure. They are each so beautiful. So that is the upside.

Kristine, I think Lagerfeld is a beautiful flower when it decides to give me one. I have 2, but for me they are stingy with the flowers and the repeat isn't that great. Check out "Sweetness" from J&P, pale lavender and continuous gorgeous flowers.

Kristine, I grew Sweetness years (check out my disappointments list on your thread). That rose cannot stand hot and dry weather. It was a mess here. You aren't quite as dry as here, but you definitely get as hot. Diane
