Dark marks on quartz counters

After a long battle with our installer, we finally got our island slab replaced with MSI Midnight Marquinia quartz. The installers wiped the counter down with acetone and denat alcohol after installation. We now have these dark marks left in various areas. Is this just residual adhesive from thr protective film that was removed? If so, should another methodical wipe of acetone take care of it?

The fabricator asked that we try to clean it off with glass cleaner, which as you can tell did not do the trick.

Matte counters show everything. That should be an expectation for choosing them. A microfiber cloth, hot water, and Dawn, and then polish dry with a microfiber. Thst will get off the hand oils. But you will have to keep that on repeat play.

Sorry if the picture didn’t show it well and I failed to mention it, but this is a polished slab. We’ve also already tried BKF soft cleaner and warm water and a microfiber. Always well rinsed aftwrward and polished dry.

What product is this? I have quartz counters and I have even cut things on them (you're not supposed to) and it hasn't left a mark.

HI joshua123, The kitchen tile is from Pratt & Larson. It is a custom waterjet mosaic piece in marble. The color is a dark grey with a lot of variation. the exact color is bardiglio. the white boarder and interior boarded are snow white marble. kathy and Micah at pratt & lason were extremely helpful finding exactly what I wanted for our kitchen. I'll have to post a couple more pictures from a sunny day, as the ones I have posted dont really reflect the real colors. as far as style and mosaics being dated or not, I'm a firm believer that you should go with what you love and what speaks to you. you are going to be living in the house and walking into that kitchen every day. I dont think our kitchen mosaic looks dated at all, but I'm also not a designer. I can tell you it makes me happy when I walk in to make my morning coffee in that room. I did consider using more of that tile to cover the entire backspace area from the cooktop to the hood, as diana illustrated in some of her photos, to really give it a more modern look, but it was too expensive to justify in this house.

Ditto what has been suggested above. That's some kind of metal from someone standing against the counter. It could be even briefly when they don't realize they have even been against it. It doesn't need to be a work area where you know you have been standing and prepping food or cleaning up. (The mystery marks on our pine dresser turned out to be DH. He would shower, partially dress and put on his heavier watch on work days, then step back into the bedroom and reach into a dresser drawer. Soft pine, metal Swiss Army watch - and shallow scratches.)

The only solution to remove dull marks is to repolish the entire countertop using professionals who use a diamond grinder. Next time, avoid installing quartz. Regardless of the manufacturer, opt for natural stone like granite or quartzite instead.

That may be the problem.

I'd try some Tenax Quartz Toner.

The spots were there

immediately after the installers left. I tried the BKF after finding the spots. The BKF definitely didn’t cause

them.

@Johnson Brothers Contracting - if you click on the photo for full resolution, you can clearly see the dark splotches that I’m talking about. It certainly doesn’t look like different aggregates and resins. It has perfect little circles where acetone dribbled in the dark splotch.
