LVP dilemma. Everything is beige, we need more grey in it.

In latter stages of new construction with white cabinets and grey island in kitchen. Putting LVP through most of house. Want to keep flooring color on lighter side without too much variation. I just saw a picture of Flooret Lachlan and that may be on the right track. Anyone have ideas to share?

more gray in floor? i dont think so. kitchen being gray and white can work with a light to med intensity look with a bit of red in the veining. really depends on the selection. samples brought in is critical. your space has characteristics we cant know about. I would avoid gray . look at nice floors with white or grayish or white w gray kitchens .

NO ONE needs more gray in any floor. It’s a deathly unnatural 40K flushed down a toilet. Gray was a flash in the pan choice, and is now in all of the discount surplus stores, stacked and eerily alone, on the way to the dump, like the toxic fake cordwood it is.

I love it when a you find a color and it’s so inspirational! Sandra & Lisa, I think you’re right about the natural cream it works especially knowing that we have the same exposure at Lisa. Hubby says he would be happy if we went w something grayish or an “actual” color. Honestly, it’s easier to go light shopping :) Patricia, thanks for your idea! We like the green but that’s an old foto.. It seems I didn’t add a image of the newly updated feature wall. It’s quite dark and our family room and kitchen share a wall which means we’d have to paint the kitchen Boreal Forest AF-480. That’s a too bold me.

100% I'd go with engineered hardwood over Vinyl plank. I just don't understand why some people seem to feel engineered hardwood is not a good choice. I think it is fantastic and is the best choice for certain installations. I don't think engineered flooring is in any way inferior. If you like wide plank you can get that in engineered as well - up to 8-10" wide. Although a more common size is 5-6" wide. We've had engineered hardwood down in our cottage for more than 3 years. We have had no issue at all with it and I haven't noticed any fading in sunlight and we have a lot of windows. Follow the manufacturers instructions and put in good underlayment - it really can make a big difference to the comfort and sound of the floors. There are so many colours and wood species available in engineered hardwood. I know you've said you spent a long time looking at your LVP - hopefully you can find some hardwood that is similar to what you were hoping for. I think this will turn out to be a lucky accident and in the long run I hope you will be very happy with whatever you choose.

Changing interior paint from taupe/gray to beige. Suggestions please?

I have a custom-modified version of Sherwin-Williams's oyster bar throughout my house. The "custom" part is that I asked the paint specialist to "double it", so it's slightly darker and more saturated than the original SW oyster bar color. A color consultant advised me on the color, which I originally thought was a boring beige, but in hindsight was a great choice because it's very neutral. It has slight undertones of gray/green, depending on the light. It looks great with just about any other color accessories, including Persian-type rugs with reddish, blue, and green hues.

You made the right choice! It looks great and definitely is not too dark in your room. Also, I like that it's the same as your adjoining entryway (and coordinates beautifully with your kitchen).

Go with an LVP/LVT that looks like real wood or go with Garrison line (Zodiac Series) that has real wood veneer in it, yet still waterproof. Here is a Coretec job we just did... that I think looks pretty timeless. Agree with the above...no gray! To see the Garrison hybrid...click this Garrison Zodiac link

Agree with the above posters saying you want to look more like real wood so not gray. You don't have to "match" to look nice.
