Depending upon how deep the scratches, you maybe able to fix them with a wax/putty touch-up stick. If it's worn down on an edge: Wood generally has two colors: a base color, and a grain color. Find a paint color that is close to your base color. Use this as an undercoat. Then get a stain that is close to your grain color. Using a piece of cheese cloth, or comb, or a tooth brush, add the graining. When it's all dry, cover with some acrylic poly. Naturally, experiment on a piece of scrap wood before touching up your cabinets. Here is a link that might be useful: Mowhak Fil-Sticks

vwhippiechick - Thanks. I remember it being a paint that I can't get here, but it reminds me of BM Woodstock Tan which I used in an entryway. Hey Petey_racer thanks for the reply. Did find a diagram on POCO guide it was buried on page 91 of 93. It matches the "knuckle buster" bend I was nervous about (load side right lug). For the record I think residential and the the industrial/factory electrical fields are two different animals. Alot of people assume because I spend my days running NEMA 12 wireways and wiring control panels with hundreds of low voltage cables that I'm also an fully capable of wiring a new home. My sister just built a new home and I had a friend that works on the work residential side of my company wire her house and I couldn't believe the code requirements and the amount of Romex he ended up using. Took one look at realized I'm not even gonna try that game. I grabbed a 40' of nema 1 lay in wireway we tore out at work and am running from my panel across my basement and tapping off it with pipe to a 6x6 jbox in each closet and I'll pick up my circuits from there. FYI I think can get 30 current carrying conductors in a wireway.

i don't know if this will help you, but we put ours in the crawl space and then ran the wires up thru the studs to the kitchen. the drawl space is directly under the kitchen so it was easy. we also put a transformer in a living room closest and fed wires thru the ceiling and back down the studs.. our kitchen was gutted obviously, so it was relatively easy... your transformer doesnt have to be in the cabinet is what i am getting at. HTH
