NOID help please

Hello all,

I have two hostas that I picked up at a going out of business sale a few years back. The one on the left is Lakeside Dragonfly, but the one on the right is stumping me. What I remember is that this hosta has two names. One of the names is Japanese and might start with an N or an H. The hosta also has another name that is completely different. Is that enough to go on? I appreciate all your help.

if they arent going in the ground soon.. the left pot needs some new media ...

i dont know the names.. might have to ask again when bloom starts.. so everyone can compare to what is blooming in their yard ..

Left one might be Bedazzled, Virginia Reel, Bobcat, Wolverine…first two are more likely.

WOW . . . yaÃ¢ÂÂ know . . . if it had been a snake it wouldaÃ¢ÂÂ bit me. What a newbie moment on my part. The funny thing is I even went through that list this winter when I saw Robert Frost was on there. Never thought to check it for my little guy. DUH !!! I just perused and IÃ¢ÂÂm pretty sure itÃ¢ÂÂs Crown Jewel. I didnÃ¢ÂÂt have any pictures of it last year. IÃ¢ÂÂve been watching it like a hawk, waiting for the right time to pitch it to you all. Young hostas like yours are often hard to id, especially since you provide no hint of its size. A pen, ruler, or even your hand in the picture could give us some perspective. My guess is that you might have Paul's Glory. You should see changes over time, and you should take note of the date and color of the blossoms. A pic later in the season might help. Somebody else will have to help with the vine: remember one person's weed is another person's wildflower. Steve

Hi Linda, I looked through the list and there are a few that I have, but they are all accounted for. Due to the overwhelming response that points to the same hosta, I think this one will be Allegan Fog from now on...it has been christened! Thanks for the link. Josephine, sure you can have a piece. I don't know what you have, but I am sure there is something that I would like :) We can exchange when we go on our Hosta 'tour'.

You know what... let's ignore the whole 'starts with a N or H thing. Lists of Japanese hostas are pointing me towards H. kikutii which does not have an N or H although hyuga giboshi does. I imagine we need a flower and a picture of the leaf underside now. Unfortunately, the rabbits from hades ate this down for the third year straight, so it will be very, very small and sad =)
