Back to trading after being off for several years. New house, not very much to trade yet, but will have a lot more by Fall.

I prefer to send packages of several different plants, to save effort & postage. Will post images of plants & package before shipping.

WANT:

Iris or Lilly, any pretty variety other than common yellow & purple.

Nearly any kind of blooming perennial for area in or near Zone 9A (Houston)

Brugmansia, except for Pink/White

Ferns - unusual varieties

Caladium - unusual varieties

-> And really, just about anything fairly unusual with pretty blooms that doesn't take a huge amount of care.

HAVE: (Most plants are potted, unless otherwise noted)

Airplane plant, variegated foliage with white blossoms

Aloe Vera

Brugmansia - Pink Single, good grower. One plant available, came back from last year freeze, so good root system and growing fast. Brug blooms may show color changes with weather and day-to-day, from white to pink. Fragrant.

Canna Lilly - Red. About 6' tall at maturity, great along fence line! Available potted or bare-root. (You get more if bare-root)

FoxTail Fern

Ferns. Misc. no-names. small plants that grow fast.

Ginger (green foliage, don't know variety na

Iron Plant

Louisiana Yellow Iris (lots of this available, good multiple rhizomes with trimmed foliage. Available potted or bare-root. (You get more if bare-root)

Liriope

Milkweed, "Mexican" variety. Blooms are yellow & red. Monarch butterfly host plant, every butterfly garden needs this!

Pencil Cactus

Sweet Potato Vine - Greenish-yellow foliage. Good size plants with tubers. Great ground cover, grows very fast. Some people call it invasive, but it is easy to pull up the tubers and it makes a really great fill-in around tall plants or to hide ugly areas.

Hibiscus, Tropical - Pride of Hankins. Rooted in 3.5" pots. Easy to grow, prolific small double red blooms. This is the main hibiscus variety used as root stock for grafting in Texas. Makes a nice garden plant with pretty blooms, plus roots easily if you want to propagate your own grafting root-stock material.

Shamrock white or pink

Society Garlic

Spearmint

Setcreasea "Purple Queen". (Solid purple color with occasional green accents, looks like a wandering jew variety..?)

Wandering Jew variety ? Green foliage with purple tinge, tiny lavender blooms. Grows fast.

Orchids - Two No-ID plants, gifts neglected after blooming. (I just don't have any luck with orchids!)

BAMBOO -

Bamboo listed separately below, because some people really hate bamboo.

In the right location, it can be great. In my case that location is on 9 acres of property and I love it as a screen, plus use it for stakes, walking sticks, small structures, and many other uses. Most people out here in the country own large acreage, so spreading is a plus, not a negative. Tractor shredder mows down & controls new grown with no problem. Small home push mower, don't try that!

So.. Yes, spreading bamboo in a small yard with close neighbors is not recommended and can be a nightmare.

Bamboo - About 20' to 25' tall at maturity. (SPREADING TYPE! Can be Invasive.) Only recommend for large acreage away from neighbors Small pot with new shoots. Can provide more bare root rhizomes if you are not in a hurry.

Bamboo - Short, fine leaves, matures at about 3' tall. I've only grown it in containers or gardens confined by concrete, so don't know how fast it spreads. I have not noticed it spreading rapidly. (If planting in a yard, keep any bamboo well away from neighbor's fences.)
