Here I am, finally! Sorry I never got around to taking any pictures; maybe this year, though the trees I have aren't all that impressive. Spring time in the Rockies, not much money for more conifers this year - spent too much last year with mixed results. Of the dwarf conifers I planted, almost half of them had died by the end of the summer, and one more succumbed over the winter. :-( This is a list of the ones that I actually planted last spring: Abies balsamea 'Nana' Juniperus communis 'Kalebab' Picea abies 'Tompa' Picea pungens 'Mile Up 92' (a gift from Nate (sluice) Picea pungens 'The Blues' Picea glauca (probably mariana??) 'Echiniformis' Pinus aristata Bristlecone Pine (a gift from treebarb) Pinus banksiana 'Angel' Pinus banksiana 'Rochester Pendula' Pinus banksiana 'Tucker's Dwarf' Pinus contorta 'Chief Joseph' Pinus mugo 'Zundert' Pinus x schwerrnii 'Wiethorst' Thuja occidentalis 'Little Champion' Thuja occidentalis 'Sherwood Frost' Thuja occidentalis 'Zmatlik' Tsuga canadensis 'Moon Frost' These are the ones that are still alive and seem to be doing well: Juniperus communis 'Kalebab' Pinus banksiana 'Rochester Pendula' Pinus banksiana 'Angel' Pinus contorta 'Chief Joseph' Pinus mugo 'Zundert' Thuja occidentalis 'Little Champion' Thuja occidentalis 'Sherwood Frost' Tsuga canadensis 'Moon Frost' Pinus banksiana 'Tucker's Dwarf' is still alive but doesn't look all that good, lots of die back which doesn't bode well for such a tiny plant... The two I regret losing the most are the 'Mile Up 92' and the 'Wiethorst.' The 'Mile Up' is irreplaceable as this was a clone that sluice grew and I won't get another chance at it - surprisingly, when I dug it up after it died it had almost no root ball. Perhaps I should have kept it in the pot for another year. I will try to replace the 'Weithorst' as it is really a wonderful looking tree; still can't find a source other than Klehms Song Sparrow Farms, though. Since the one I got from them died (of course, wasn't my fault, right?!?) I am somewhat reluctant to buy another one from them... Is that foolish? But, since they seem to be the only source here in the USA, I will no doubt try again - after all, the 'Moon Frost' that I got from them is doing fine. So, that's my sad tale! Not much encouragement for trying more conifers this year, so I guess it is a good thing that I don't have the $$, although I did buy a cheapy from Home Depot this weekend, a Picea abies 'Reflexa' (of course, incorrectly labeled as a 'Pendula.') Hi Amy, Welcome to RMG! IÂm not really into roses, so I wonÂt try to give you an answer about them, but ALL the other things you asked about will do just fine here with the exception of the glads. The glads will do well here tooÂbutÂthey need to be dug in fall, stored over winter, and replanted in spring to be sure they make it thru the winter. If theyÂre planted next to something like a brick wall facing south, or some other really warm and protected place, they may make it in the ground, but you never know for sure till early summer. And maybe I should qualify the lilies since some of them are tropicals. It depends on what kind you have, but most of them are hardy, like tiger lilies, Asiatic, Oriental, and trumpet liliesÂso chances are what you have will be hardy. deco...I don't want to call grandma...I want to sew with her (or drink fluffy coffee as my grandma used to call it). Sue all that silk belongs in a crazy quilt missie...and have you ever made a quilt with a serger? SOOOO much easier, especially with silk. If you sew with silk at all woman you need to figure out the serger...can you say "no more fringed and frazzled edges?" Pecan...I didn't sew until ohhh five or so years ago when I made my DH (not DH then) a bunch of silk pillows for his couch (he couldn't find any that worked with it). I had a bunch of scraps and thought I'd "whip" out a crazy quilt for nothing...about a grand later...he had a beautiful quilt, and I was hooked. The great thing I now know is that I can buy silk on sale and save the scraps and make ooddles of quilts for so much less that that first quilt cost me! Those scraps of yours would be a gorgeous quilt I'd bet :oP When our house is all said and done I'm going to make a crazy quilt for our bed out of all the silks, satins and linen I'm using on drapes and for bedding. I will do that for every house we do as a memory of that home to take with us to the next. DS will have the nicest bed in the dorm room in college LOL

I am in Hiram, GA. I have three Walmarts near me that sell fabric and patterns. The Douglasville store off Hwy 5 and Interstate 20, Powder Springs store off East West Connector and Powder Springs Road, Hiram store of Hwy 278/Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway. They closed out the fabric dept at the Thorton Road Walmart 2 years ago. I have heard that the one on Douglasville will be closing out sometime next year. The best of all three is the Hiram since they still have the big 12 foot rack of discounted or special priced fabrics. Some are a $1.00 a yard. I hope they don't all discontinue fabrics. It great when I need something fast instead of having to order it.
