Twilight Zone and Pretty Lady roses
Comments (43)In my yard, Pretty Lady Rose is a good front yard rose. For me, it handles the heat well, but it does get a lot of shade. It is also handling the shade well too (but it's very hot here - with dry heat - so that may be different elsewhere). It has really healthy foliage though and lots of blooms! Not strongly fragrant, but it is fragrant and it's a nice classic rose fragrance....See More'Twilight Zone' and unidentified rose have white streaks like Tie Dye
Comments (4)Hi, KJM, I agree your Twilight Zone is pretty bright, even for summer when roses can get lighter. One thing I've liked about TZ is how well it doesn't fade out or turn fuschia in our very hot, sunny summers. TZ does have little white spots on occasion but never a tie dye look, at least on my plant. If you have been having a really hot summer, maybe that could explain some of it, but it seems a bit unusual. This is the color of my TZ almost all of the time. Note some little white spots. I'm wondering if the Bayer could have affected the color. Have you used a new fertilizer? Diane...See More2019 USA New Rose Introductions
Comments (143)I was able to get 5 standard “Life of the Party” roses in early spring from Lowe’s 50% off! First bought one and went back for all they had after I saw how romantic they looked in the garden! The fragrance is incredible.... just love them! I’m in Silverado Canyon, California....See MoreNew USA rose introductions for 2022
Comments (7)Thank you, Ben! The new introductions this time of year help ease the disappointment of our growing season ending here in the US. Soeur Emmanuelle is the only one I'm familiar with. She's already taller than the stated size on HMF, reaching 5'+ at 1 yr old from a Palatine bare root. Mine is similar to most of the photos on HMF with clusters of blooms on long stems that start off as deep red buds, open to a rich rose pink that gradually lighten to pale pink. I don't believe the fading blooms is a negative, rather a feature of the rose. The various shades are very pretty on the bush. The form on mine is definitely hybrid tea, rather than shrub, right down to the sparse foliage toward the base, but that may stand out more to me than to those who are used to hybrid teas. Scent is often hard to detect in my climate, but her's is strong and lovely. I'll try posting my pics below. I'm having computer troubles or Houzz troubles tonight....See Moreintwilight z6a KS
