I got more info about the wire brush that I thought I would pass along to anyone interested. In our case, the mill actually does the wirebrushing before it is installed. They were in the process of doing a sample, but their professional opinion was wirebrushing on quartersawn would not produce that much of difference to warrant .60 a sq ft more. Also, they use to fume floors at the mill, but started contracting it out. If I had started earlier, I could of had more options. I guess my take away is to do your homework way in advance

We purchased Everbright flooring luxury linoleum for our kitchen and 2 bathrooms due to the lifetime warranty and claimed quality. Unfortunately, this was not what we received. After only 18 months, our kitchen flooring failed and we now need to replace it. The company refused to honor the warranty claiming installation issues. Apparently, "satisfaction" is somehow conditional. I strongly recommend using quality products from some other company and avoiding this low-quality vendor

I looked back in my records and it turns out we did refinish an Australian Cypress floor in 2017 with bleach, white pickle and non-yellowing urethane. I would think that in California you'd be able to find a qualified refinisher that would have the necessary expertise. After sanding one applies two coats of 2-part wood bleach, White pickle sealer (we use Bona), a coat of ClassicSeal and two coats of Mega HD or Traffic. if you're speaking only to floor sellers/installers, you might need to broaden your search. From what I remember the sample of this was quite attractive. The only other issue I can think of is whether your floor is thick enough to be sanded.

I absolutely love the flooring I chose and I get comments on it whenever someone comes . Coretec Woodbury Maple. No knots. No bevels. No strange texture. It is smooth and a soft brownish color without being red or yellow. I chose it for its timeless features of smaller plank size and color. These pictures do not capture the color at all, no matter the lighting in my house, it looks like the picture on the website.
