Combating hostile takeover

Citizen Pained
last month

I "inherited" two rose bushes, including a beautiful white - tick-infested! - one whose scion exploded this year. I just sliced all its red rose containing branches down to the ground, leaving only a cane (with anthracnose?) and two sweet white buds. Its dried up root knot is beside the decimated home defense base. I am rural, near where VA, MD and WV meet. I stick with organic (and cat safe methods) What do I do now?
