Apple or Pear Green bedding? I have a Palisade Blue room & would
Comments (5)I really like the idea of the pear green, especially. I think it will look pretty with the blue. Any limey or pale green will look nice with yellow undertones. I wouldnt go to the sagey side, but the olivey color in the marimeko (sp) might be nice as long as there is some white in the bedding too. IMVHO...See MoreHow would you dress these windows/doors?
Comments (12)Thank you all for your opinions! @ Kayz5, These windows are facing the street/front but the main entrance to the house is in the back. A driveway takes you to the "back" where there is a main entrance door. The doors on the front of the house would not be used so much in winter. I will have to think about your suggestion of mounting close to the ceiling. That could work except that I had hoped to leave the trim unobstructed. @tibbrix, yes we are in Maine and that is a view of Frenchman's Bay. I am leaning towards the white minimalist cellular shades (which actually are rated for the highest R value). I plan to investigate those comfort tracks, but don't know if I'm going to like the looks of the tracks. I don't have the wall space on either side of the curtains---the few inches of wall between the window trim and the door trim has light switches on them. Annie sure did supply an array of possibilities! I have searched HOUZZ umpteen times looking for "window shade" ideas and none of these examples showed up! There are some similar to my set up. Thanks, Annie. I wish a knew a good decorator in the area.......See MoreHow would you decorate with black/white bedding?
Comments (7)Well, depends on the vibe you like. I'm a color and pattern gal. I'd totally splurge on a bed quilt to anchor the room and decorate around it. I love them, wish I had room for more at my house. The first photo you posted has the advantage of having both color and pattern. I think probably most of those do, have a solid side. I like that first one because it brings in two of my favorite colors--lake blue and sagey green. YMMV. The striped one has the advantage of having a little darker color than the walls so would add a strong accent. Really depends on what you like best, they are all fab. The one with the bright teal and lime green would take you in another direction decor-wise. That one has a more boho vibe. I like that as well. Honestly, I'm sort of a person who thinks that most of the rooms in the house should have at least the same feel. I'm not a fan of bedrooms having dramatically different decor, which can be an issue when you have kids who want a bold style for their nest. I get that. But as a guest bedroom, I'd try to go for a look that at least mirrors your overall home decor in some way, relates to it. Also the layout of the room. A tiny room would have different constraints than a larger one....See Morehow would you dress these windows?
Comments (5)IMO no one will see anything in thoe top windows have you actually tested to see what is visible since looking up into windows usaully gives no view at all. I do think you will need some heat and UV control so I would do solar shades I do not think those 2 tiny windows by the FP are not attractive and pretty useless . I would do soalr shades on all the windows then add drapes on the bottom ones for nightime privacy . Solar shades control heat and UV and give you daytime privacy and the big bonus is they allow you the view all day. The darker the shade to better the view so I use 10% and either charcoal or bronze...See Morenicole___
