I'm using you as a distraction so my thoughts are not well put together.

First I'd look for pictures of bedding that appeal to me. Could be all neutrals that focus on texture. Could be a single color that I love.

Are the objects above the lamps operational sconces or just decorative? I would consider removing them. The placement of the pictures above the bed is awkward - move them up and a bit closer together but maybe look around your house to see if you have something else that would work - a larger piece, landscape orientation with more weight than the white. Lamps are fine but maybe there's a way to add trim to the shades and punch them up a bit.

That is a pretty bed. I would never think of painting it! Here is what I like to do with my bed coverings. I always have an off-white/creme colored cover as my base. I like to change up my bedding a few times a year so this works well. I use two euro shams that match my base cover. Stand them up somewhat. In front of these I will have a colored or print shams. For my pillows in shams I use good, plump feather pillows. In front of the sham pillows I usually have a long rectangular pillow (you can have these made - I have mine made to fit a king size pillow). Yes, I know many do not like alot of pillows but I do. I love textiles (especially pretty fabrics) so this is a way to indulge ☺️. We have a chest at the end of the bed and a large armoire in the room, so the pillows have a place to go at night. ANYHOO, I will sometimes have a coverlet/duvet folded at the end of the bed. Right now, in warmer weather, I don't. I do the same off-white/cream base in our guest room and the same set-up of pillows except I have a bolster pillow instead of the long rectangular pillow in the front. I love a pretty bed!!

I know you said, just the bed, and I know it's already been mentioned, BUT, I would move the two pics up just a bit to where you could move them over closer together.

PS do you like the block print quilts? i get notices on Etsy frequently showing some beautiful ones. Decent prices too!

I'm going to be another one that doesn't listen to the "only." With your current bedding, I think a soft blue pulled from it instead of the brown pillows would look nice against the headboard. Lamps are fine, so I would no change them. I like the art too, but not in its current location. There is a lot of matching items (5 pair to be exact, 7 if you count the tissue boxes and coasters). That is a lot for my eyes, but maybe not yours.

I agree the sconces are not in a good location.

If you are set on changing the bedding, is there a rug in the room? If so, please show us. If not, do you want one, or is that carpet?

Pretty bed. I've always loved sleighbeds. I think the dark shams may be lost on the headboard, I'd choose a different color for those. Then I would add a pillow and/or a throw in one of the orange(?) tones in the bedding.

You may have "too much symmetry" . I count 7 elements repeated left and right. I'd also consider artwork/framing that does not blend as much with the wall color, and only one larger piece or perhaps none at all.

@Tina Marie....I LOVE a pretty bed too! I have feather king pillows in shams in one of the other bedrooms, feather inserts in the ALL the throw pillows & lumbar pillows. I don't have any feather euro pillows....yet.

I agree the olive green shams are the wrong color. How about this blue with white trim?

My tastes: Light African prints, Ikat, Jacobean How about these shams in light blue?

New art work would be fine.....these came out of the old house...

I would not change the bedding, aside from the dark pillows. I like what have right now. The bed itself is TDF.

Also, unsolicited advice here, so grain of salt, but either add a picture between the two you have or push them closer together. I am not fond of the gap.

OK....I'm ordering the light blue Fieldcrest shams. I'll move the artwork...and post a photo when the shams arrive...

I think light blue will look lovely. Right now is a great time to purchase bedding, etc. with the memorial day sales! Maybe look for a throw in that color too. Do you have a chair in the room?

@Tina Marie...Neutral carpet, no rug. Yes...a huge, oversized chair and a half...dedicated to the size of our last cat. 😁 It's an off white brocade with an off white ottoman...with a heated pet bed...with a black throw on it....black cats shed black hair. Maybe change the color of the throw to pale blue?

I am late to the party and it looks like you've already made a decision ... but i totally agree with all the feedback and your decision.

Your current set is so much nicer and better quality than what you were considering. I am guessing you were itching for a change and hopefully the shams do it for you but if not, try the other suggestions to move/change the artwork and to add a little asymmetry to head on view. I think every rooms needs the visual interest of some asymmetry.. if not, something completely unexpected.

@Funkyart...I sort of threw the rooms together in this house. The house was unfinished when we moved in. A little too much house...my husband liked the garage.😁 I'm just now untangling the looks I put together. The loft, two of the spare bedrooms and family room had Zero furniture....just finished those rooms based on the artwork. This was "leftover" artwork....I haven't shopped for anything...

I hear you-- i have multiple parallel projects going to finish what I did not when I moved in. I moved and then work consumed all my focus and energy. I am sure folks here feel like I am all over the place with my projects. *I* feel like i am all over the place with my projects.
