Sorry but no floor will hide paws prints if the paws have dirt on them , as for scuffs rubber soled shoes scuff . I have 3 huge dogs we have LVP in our walkout basement where the dogs have free run to a huge dog run all day . Muddy feet often at the end of the day if it needs it I damp mop thats life. I guess I need to understand your question since IMO all floors show dirt and I think beeter to see it that not and so cleaning the floor is not a big deal to me. Waht marks did the floor show maybe post a pic of what you are taliking about

Thank you for your response. The boards are at a different house and I cleaned them, so no pictures. I think rather than scuff, I should have said a cloudy mark. I talked with my floor installer and he said matte finishes show these type of marks more than other finishes, so I will have to live with it. Once it is installed, I'll have area rugs down and a hall runner, which will cover much of the area.

We have Supercore Xtreme 5G. Installed one year ago. Nothing has scratched or dented it at all. Damp mop with Mr. Clean & water - no hazing, no spotting, just clean. Love it.

Disallow shoes in the house? It won't solve all the problems but it will make a difference in cleanliness. (Warning: This topic seems, for a reason I have yet to understand, controversial and prone to, shall we say, hotness. Don't let it derail your interesting question because I offer it only as a possible partial solution.)

We have a "no shoes" house. We also have a hard wax oil finish on solid maple on our main floor, which is a "matte" finish. Just one of the reasons I very much dislike the finish is that everything "shows". The Supercore is in our lower level, and has just enough sheen that it doesn't "scuff".

I have seen numerous other LVP that are more matte. I would avoid those, as they will never look clean.

@chipsa, ours is Rubio. There are numerous discussion threads on Houzz and elsewhere, where MANY people had the same issue we do. Our floors are natural maple, so some of it may be that darker colors show less.

As far as the OP, and the LVP matte finishes, "scuff marks, doesn't look clean", etc. are common complaints. We're very happy to NOT have that problem with the Supercore we bought.

It was one of the main reasons we choose Supercore over Flooret, as theirs was more matte.

@Mary Elizabeth, thank you for letting me know that your Supercore doesn't show these marks. I went through that very long Supercore thread and thought that might be the case, but wasn't certain. I hate to begin looking all over again, but I really am unhappy with my current choice because of the "smudges" for lack of a better word. I'll order some supercore samples.

@Aphaea, I wear "rubber shoes" in the house for comfort. I have to have some sort of cushioning for my feet. I would LOVE to go shoe free indoors, for cleanliness, but my husband refuses to do so. I appreciate your thoughts on the subject : )

My husband walked on the boards barefoot and seemed to leave a mark too.

@telesaps, My hustband & I usually wear Crocs or other soft soled shoe inside - not the same shoes we wear outside. I also go barefoot alot.

We have Supercore in our lower level - off the patio, lakeside. A "normal" summer weekend is a dozen or more adults & 15 grandchildren plus their friends. Wet barefeet to no end! (Sand is kept to a minimum, as we have a foot wash tub built into the patio.)

We've had it for a little over a year. No scratches, no dents, and cleans SO easy!

Ours is the Supercore Xtreme Asheville. (I would ONLY consider their line with the 5G locking system.) I don't think the website pictures are really good with the true color, as least not on my monitor. Get LOTS of samples.

I bought the "In House exclusive brand" "Downs H2O" from Flooring America.

It was the same product that I found at Carpet One under a different "In house exclusive brand name" "Invincible H2O". Turns out that Carpet One, Flooring America, Flooring Canada, The Floor Trader Outlet and ProSource Outlet are all under the umbrella of CCA Global Partners. Their in house brands are manufactured for them by CoreTec and sold at all their stores under different names. The prices are different from one franchised owned store to another. I found a 30% difference between the highest and lowest prices for the exact same flooring and different prices not only one store name to the next, but two Flooring Americas or two Carpet Ones would have different prices. The flooring was also available through CoreTec, but the tile size was different - I bought 18x36 and I think through CoreTec the large format was 12x24. Buying through CoreTec was one of the higher prices, if not the highest.

When the product was delivered it is in a CoreTec box and is the CoreTec Plus product line. To make things even more confusing CoreTec was a subsidiary of US Floors. US Floors was bought out by Shaw Industries.

I have been very happy with my Downs H2O / Coretec flooring. Don't have any marks from the dog or shoes or foot prints.

@Jennifer Hogan I finally looked up Downs H20 flooring and it looks good online. I am going to go to a local Flooring America store and check it out. I'd be happy if it is really Coretec.
