We had Silhouettes in our last Philly house and I didn't love them. Do people not like those wood slat blinds anymore? Have they gone out of vogue? I do like the idea of a fabric blind a lot. Hopefully we can find some options that will work with the paint color. So hard!! Graywings - the paint color is Wedgewood Gray - we've used it before (with wood blinds now I think about it) and love the color. This is the 3rd house we've had a Wedgewood Gray bedroom in. We're such creatures of habit. Lol. Here it is in our Hoboken house. Do you like it with these blinds? Or not enough color?

IMO solar shades will be needed to control heat and UV rays or all the fabrics will be bleached in no time . I would probably do motorized ones so you can enjoy the cloudy days with no blinds. I see no need for privacy on that huge wall of windows so there I would just do the solars they will allow you to keep the view all the time. BTW the view is better when you choose the darker color like charcoal or bronze. Then on the windows where nighttime privacy is an issue you can mix the blinds with either roman shades or drapes but my choice would be roman shades. The other thing you can do is to make those top windows have permanent solar shades custom made to fit and then use the roller ones just on the bottom.

What about a black out roller shade for night time privacy and window film for day time privacy. The window film will decrease the natural light but protect furniture, flooring, etc. We have this in our master bedroom, den and office. Has a nice clean look. I like things simple so decided to pick a color to match the walls but you can pick something textured, patterned, solid color, etc.

I used a local window covering company for my roller shades. Yes, I could have saved a little online, but these have a warranty and the quality is fantastic. Look into someone who can come to your house with the fabric samples.
