Problem with concrete pavers crumbling after being sealed

amyhlr
last year

We had patio pavers installed in 2010. Two years ago we decided to refresh them by powerwashing replacing the polymeric sand and adding a clear sealant. At the time the finished product was beautiful. Now, two years later, the pavers are beginning to disintegrate. They are cracking and crumbling around the edges. The original manufacturer of the pavers (Capitol Paving) went out of business a few years ago, so the product is no longer available. I suppose we could try to replace the damaged pavers with something similar, but how can a prevent this from happening again? The sealant should last more than 2 years, and even if it doesn't, why would the pavers be crumbling? I emailed the company that did the sealing work, and am awaiting their response.
