Looking for curb appeal
Comments (1)From the looks of the photo and rendering you have made a good start in "breaking up the box" and adding appealing features for changing the scale and proportion of the existing house. Have you viewed the "Additions" area of Houzz: http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/Additions Lots of ideas and good tips there. Good luck with your project!...See MoreLooking for some curb appeal, design ideas needed!
Comments (3)That's awesome! What do you call the plants beside the sunflowers and zinnias?...See MoreLooking for curb appeal ideas.
Comments (4)Landscaping will be a big part of overall appearance. Presently, the plantings look like a bit of a hodgepodge, with too much variety and scattered. Your picture, being from too far away, is not conducive to giving you specific feedback. For that, you'd need to stand at the curb, where the camera remains in line with the left edge of drive (which is a compromise between the door and center of house), and take a series of slightly overlapping photos, pivoting, showing everything that is between left to right lot lines....See MoreLooking for curb appeal suggestions
Comments (14)Yardvaark: Love your garden design. Had considered enlarging the garden towards the middle walkway, but never thought of going the opposite way. Also love the pink anchors on the sides of the house. And the red in the wall garden. There's tulips there in the spring, and annuals in the summer. But usually a mix of colors. Love the idea of just one color, and thinking something like Salvia could work. The only part of your design that wouldn't work is the large plant by the step, as we need to be able to squeeze in there to get to the water faucet. Or have you left space to get in behind it? BTW, very cool that you erased the green bin! ☺️ Little Bug said" Paint the garage door and trim the same color as the foundation. No need to highlight it like a target." The foundation is probably going to need to be a new color, so will consider your suggestion. meghanm519 said "The front door color is just personal preference. White is fine but I think a little pop of color would bring it up a notch. " A colored door definitely pops, however, with the new non-white siding, maybe a white door won't look so boring. celerygirl: Cool mockups. Thanks for creating them. ☺️ Thanks, everyone, for your comments. It's so great getting new ideas and suggestions. The guy was here yesterday to take measurements and prepare a quote. Asked what color siding he'd recommend, and his answer was "gray". So it seems everyone agrees on the siding color. ☺️Trim will be white. No shutters. The door will also be white. However, he is making the door a bit wider than it is now, while still keeping a sidelight, so that might help set the door off a bit more. Once the work is complete, I'll post a picture, probably asking for foundation color suggestions. Thanks again, everyone. ☺️...See MoreP Banos
