The most popular maker of these plates is Bordallo, in Portugal. If you go to ebay, and seach for "green Bordallo plates" you will find a lot of them, in all sizes. The size you want is usually labeled "dessert plate" or "salad plate." There are also Chinese knockoffs that are just as good, and antique majolica plates that cost a fortune. Last week I found two green majolica dessert plates at Goodwill. They were 99 cents apiece. Score!

I'm a hopeless plate collector so have several walls of plate rails as well as a 4 plate iron hanger, several single iron wall holders, and many wire/spring types. Some of my plates have holes thru which wire can be looped. I also use the tabletop plate holders. I have to rotate plates or my fetish would be too apparent!

Athome, Google *granite switch plate covers* and you will find them in all price ranges. I don't want to appear to be promoting that one site, as I have in the past, referenced them before in other threads. If you feel creative, you could paint the ones you have with a speckle design with craft paints. It might be cheaper if you have a lot more of them to do in the kitchen than just those two. If you only have those two that sit on granite then it is cheaper to buy them. The ones that site against the white painted wood of course would be left the way they are. (Unless you are a 'purist' and wish to use white painted wood covers.)

msrose....I was in Michaels today and I looked at their plate hangers. They have plastic tips! Hopefully there's a Michaels near you. I don't know what I'd do without that store,lol. my3dogs...accessorizing is the hardest thing for me to do. I really think some people have that gift and some don't. You definetely have it. I often wonder how many great things I've passed up in stores because I didn't see their potential. I bought a small half-circle table for an empty spot in my dining room a few years ago. No purpose really other than decorative. I thought, how fun it will be to decorate it. Yeah right, it's become the bane of my existance. lol Nothing i have looks good on it and I'm clueless what to buy. Last year I went on a tour of homes and one of the houses was decorated exactly how I wish mine could be. Luck have it, the homeowner has decided to become a decorator because of all the complements she receives. It comes easy to her so why not. Have you considered it? I plan on calling her next year and let her help me with the finishing touches. It's weird, I have no problem buying the big stuff like furniture but I come to a screeching halt when it's time to dress it all up.
