This what I ordered (so Far)
Comments (5)Stan, this looks like a very nice list of roses. I grew Yolande d'Aragon in North Carolina (z 7b) for a few years (the plant was grafted and came from Ashdown), and it was pretty much a spring bloomer, with the odd flower in the fall, if lucky. It is, I have to say, a very very lanky, ungainly plant adorned with big, coarse, light green leaves that are very prone to BS in the hot and humid southeast. It definitely needed regular spray. But the flowers were big and beautiful and well perfumed, so perhaps worth putting up with the rest of the rose. Maybe she'll perform better in your cooler climate. I didn't get her again here in England though. I've seen Tour de Malakoff in an English garden not far from where we live (z8), and it's an amazingly beautiful and special looking rose with its many purple hues, but currently I feel that I don't have space for too many once-bloomers. Although I might get it anyway. Post some pictures of it in the spring, if you can! I just ordered Mme Louis Leveque from a German nursery (Schultheis), since it comes so highly recommended. Looking forward to it. Enjoy your roses! Andrea...See MoreNot What I Ordered...

Comments (4)I bought Ebb Tide two years ago. It does very well here and gets about three feet tall and two feet wide. It actually had quite a bit of good cane left last spring so you could plant it in the ground if you have room. I don't know how disease resistant it is as I spray, but it does fine with my somewhat erratic spray schedule. You'll love the color. I bought The Prince from Ashdown last year and it did very well, so at least some Austins do fine own-root. I wouldn't worry about it until you see how it does in your soil....See MoreGuess what I ordered!
Comments (12)but I worry they would come off - or just flap and irritate the heck out of me. I too feel/felt the same as you. I did however get a pair of generic croc style shoes to try. They are quite a bit heavier than the actual true crocs. At first I tended to occasionally feel insecure, and/or walk off the sides, but felt they would be all right for just going out in the damp mornings to just do a little chore or maybe feed the dogs or something. I soon began to feel more secure, and now wear them all the time...even walking fast/running, and doing everything in them. It might now be time to treat myself to the real thing. I too, want to try them on first. I saw a few styles at a Bass pro shop long ago, and see they have some listed in their on line catalog. Does anyone know of any national retail stores that carry them? Sue Here is a link that might be useful: crocs at Bass Pro on line...See MoreBrandon Garner
