Caution: casement windows and tree frogs.

I only have small stock tank water gardens in my back yard. But it's enough to attract those wonderful tree frogs. I keep my window open at night in the summers and love hearing their symphonies. Well......recently, I kept smelling something decomp-ish whenever I would open the window....even though I couldn't see anything dead on the ground. Then I thought.......' it possible that something small has died between the open casement window and the inner screen? Unfortunately, the answer was 'yes'. I must have closed the window one morning and didn't notice there was a tree frog totally flattened under the metal turn mechanism. Damn. It broke my heart. So......just wanted to warn all you who might have casement windows and tree frogs around, to check around the entire window before closing it. I'm still sad about it. :(
