You have a lot of good suggestions here. Get your ductwork cleaned. Then have a really good handy person, or an HVAC company, check your ductwork to be sure it's all properly sealed. Most ductwork is leaky and needs periodic resealing. Use mastic; NO tape on ductwork. But with the way you live and your surroundings, you're going to have a LOT of dust. Other than changing your life in some major ways, all you can do is maintain your ductwork properly and keep on dusting. You know what the culprits are. I also think your expectations for a reasonable dusting schedule are throwing you off. WEEKLY dusting is pretty much the standard. Unless someone has asthma/allergies/etc.; then DAILY. Not suggesting that you do that; just that your expectations are off. A less dust-producing lifestyle than yours still produces enough dust to benefit from weekly dusting. If you stop running your ceiling fans you'll stop keeping the dust airborne; more of it will settle on the floor and stay there till you clean the floors. Walkoff mats at the doors will help. Dry-towelling your dogs before they come in will help. Closing your windows will help. Grassing your yard will help. If you hate the monthly chore of de-crudding things, maybe you'd find it easier to do a lighter, more frequent dusting with lambswool dusters with a short wooden handle--easist tool for light dusting, but they won't decrud. They hold the dust till you take them outside and shake, then twirl them, when they release it. Good luck. We're all in this fight together!!

Great suggestions - I will look at those this week when we go paint picking. One thing I forgot to mention is that the roof is green metal. I know... that's a BIG thing. That will probably make green a no-go? It's more of a faded dusty green - not mossy or sagey. You can see the green astro turf on the porch that looks pretty accurate for comparison. So, the things we're forced to work with are: green roof, white siding on the eaves and porch & probably black casement windows. We are painting a small bank of windows black this morning as a test. Another thing we thought about is that the interior panes are already black so if we do get a little outside the lines, it won't be a glaring mistake like it is now with the white on the outside. Also, we do have black vintage porch furniture that will serve as an accent. Pardon the mess on the porch - it's a work day around here! Here is a link that might be useful:

I prefer a single color because there is already a lot going on with all the angles on your house. I find the resulting play of light and shadow very attractive, but I think it is too busy if it is given additional complexity with a mix of colors, or contrasting trim. A greige color would look very good. You will have a very different (better) look than if you had a flat-style house painted all the same color, which would be boring.

Painting the siding a dark color makes the house look top heavy above the light colored stone. I get the impression your stone has a lot of golden warm tones in it, so cooler grays are not really working, IMO. Which of your pix is the closest to reality as far as color goes? Of course, color is in the eyes of the computer screen too. If you can load a pic of your house into some of the major paint company sites, they often have an app that will pick colors based on what is already there.
