Almost Finished kitchen - need decorating help please!
Comments (3)Your kitchen looks so pretty .... I can't see yellow as your accent, but my mind immediately jumped to lime or kiwi green. (Maybe it's just the way the photos are coming through, but I'm seeing a lot of yellow in your paint color and my concern is yellow accent pieces would clash with the yellow-based paint. Again, maybe it's not so in real life, but in the above pictures that's what I'm seeing.) As for the pot rack, as jerseygirl_1 wrote, it's hard to tell given the photos, but my gut reaction is "no" because I'm afraid a pot rack would take away from the pretty chandelier you have over your sink. Take that with a grain of salt because I've only seen half your kitchen. I'm not sure I'd do a backsplash -- I really like the painted wall in between your gorgeous soapstone and pretty, creamy cabinets. However, I always like a white subway tile and black liner (as jerseygirl_1 mentions): check out jgarner's backsplash. Well look at that -- she has the green I was thinking of for you .... Congratulations on your beautiful new kitchen -- you did a lovely job!...See More'Almost Finished' kitchen pics- advice needed!
Comments (32)Frighteningly, I have a bird thing going in my house, too. Happened partly by accident (inherited mom's things) and partly as a response to the freaking Audubon party that happens on my lawn every day. I think it's the golf course nearby. Anyway, you need this picture frame in your kitchen, minus the unattractive married couple: There are lots of papers to explore besides Imperial Trellis. Neisha Crosland Majorelle in Mint, maybe: Ferm Living has some cute (Scandinavian!) paper: There's peekaboo from twenty2: You could maybe use Iconic panels, as long as they're not right behind the stove of course....See MoreKitchen's almost done, but I need help!
Comments (7)I would go with the antiqued brass. First off it would look lovely. Also brass is making a come back. Also mixing metals is fine. My space has bronze pulls, a coppery bronze faucet, and ss appliances. Go with your instincts of what would look good. It took me five weeks of spending most of my waking hours looking at different pulls on the net. I finally found the one that made my heart sing. My cabs have a very subtle beading on them and my hardware has an edge of beading in each groove. Good luck and I am anxious to see your kitchen when it's done....See Morealmost finished white kitchen, wood counters-need backsplash help
Comments (27)oh, momo...now I have google ann sacks and found those tiles...I JUST LOVE THEM. $83 per square foot, eh? Ay yi yi! I also found other tiles there that I love. Part of me almost wants to go nuts and ethnic and busy, since the rest of my kitchen is so simple. I am just afraid I will tire of it. Like this... (not this exactly, I just mean a busy, ethnic pattern. Kind of looks 70s to me, also.) cherry-Yes, we addressed the torso issue already! Yet another reason I want the mirror antiqued, and also not flat panes but rather tiles, so the "cuts" will break up the view a bit! I know what you mean, some of these threads get so long and I want to give my 2 cents but I just *know* one of my comments has probably already been made, but I say it anyway. Thanks for the input. You are not the only one with the opinion that with so much stainless and "coolness" I should go with warmth/color/texture. The things is...I see so many finished white kitchens similar to mine that have white tile as a BS, and I like them. I also like those pics that momo posted in her link, and they are white, with SS appliances, and mirrored BS and I think they look good. Well, I am torn and DH really wants me to make a decision so he can install. He wants the tile/color/texture look. I will keep you guys updated! Thanks so much!...See Morejojoco
