Putting some miracle grow on the roses May 18 2022

last month

We came home from a seven week trip. We had left all the roses completely unprotected with no rose cages. We fully expected them to be nibbled by the bunnies down to nubs and dried out due to our very dry spring. But they all look pretty healthy and happy. In fact they look better than when we have tended them through the spring.

Today we are putting on spring miracle grow fertilizer for the first time ever. Hope this doesn't screw them up. We are expecting freezing temps and possibly some snow in a couple of days.

We waited until May 15th to trim them which is the latest we've ever done and it may have not been late enough.

Winnipeg Parks has some buds with color. Amiga Mia also has alot of visible buds but not with color yet. Hopefully this spring fertilization doesn't screw them up but helps them get through the cold weather.
