Front door choice for a painted door
Comments (6)Your house is a fine one story Colonial Revival. A traditional Cape would have a steeper roof without dormers, no porch, no portico or any classical features like columns or pediments. A good choice would be a paint grade exterior wood panel door from TruStile in Colorado. They have more choices than any other company and it is easy to design a door with their design software. Comments (9)We custom built about three years ago and really wanted to make our front door a focal point. We have a full length lead glass door and matching side lights. We decided to go with the brushed nickel finish for a couple reasons. We wanted to match the nickel light fixtures, and door handles. I also really like the nickel because it just sparkles and looks so natural, especially when the sunlights comes through - beautiful. Would post pic, but don't know how....See MoreFront door color choice?

Comments (18)RoseAbbey, it does look awesome on the dark brown mock up! Yay!! What color pots and wreath do you think? I prefer nature colors, but no pinky/purple pastels, etc. I also like with the brown how the welcome sign/remove shoes kinda fades in until you're right up on it standing on the porch. I know it's a controversial subject (no shoes) however it's important to us and subtly gets the point across before we even open the door. LOL :)...See MoreMaegan Coolbaugh
