The Polish re-named the German Schattenmorelle as Lutowvka. Pretty slow growing, bush like or small tree. I've tried it about 20 years ago but only lasted about 3 years at the orchard..winter killed eventually. I'm trying it again, Canada has named it as Rose cherry, don't think any sweeter. For our condition, zone 2 - 3 you're much better off with the U. of. Sk. cherries..Sour cherries Cupid or Juliet are one of the best from what I hear.

Dianne, I have quartz (not Caesarstone, they were out of my choice at the time) in my bathroom; looks new 2 years later. Online, you will find many cons or negatives about most any product you are considering buying. I wouldn't let that hinder you, as that's usually the minority. Caesarstone has a warranty. I will be buying either London Grey or Organic White in the next two weeks for my kitchen reno, but I love real marble. This is a happy compromise. Check with the company you are buying and ask if they've had any issues with Caesarstone. I asked the appliance company about Thermador vs. Viking and they gave me their opinion based on what they service the least. Good luck!

The derating is the percentages of the optimal installation load. Where human safety is involved and installation is not supervised by licensed engineers and actual testing performed to verify the installation, it is typical to allow loading of anchors to not exceed 10% of the ideal installation strength. For supervised installations the loading is normally ~12%, and for non-life type loads 25%. You do not get a lot by doing the testing, so it is rarely performed. It is cheaper to just add enough fasteners to meet the 10% rating. The derating makes up for the variation in installation (holes size, smoothness, variation in concrete, installation technique, etc) and the lack of any testing to ensure the actual installation. In many cases even the strength of the concrete the anchors are installed in is not reliably known. To be allowed for use the devices are required to be listed by a recognized testing authority and they must be installed with full compliance of the device instructions and any special conditions in the listing. Listings typically list optimal load ratings for the anchors in various strengths of concrete. Other conditions to meet the listing are device spacing from edges and other fasteners and device depth. Only a few people died before lag shields were disallowed and more secure fastening means required. In the overall scheme of things the cost difference per job is very small and the gain in safety has been excellent. Deck collapses from ledger pull away have significantly decreased. The most recent failures have been pulling away of entire band joists. There are probably going to be some additional changes in a few years if the problem persists. Have just come across all these comments. Wish I’d done so before choosing to purchase Caesar Stone for use in our kitchen! Your marks look very much like the horrendously noticeable long streaks I have on my worktops. What caused yours? And did ever manage to remedy, I wonder? I was led to believe by the supplier that Caesar Stone was infinitely less prone to marking/staining than other types of product. It’s been anything but! Water marks, ring marks, oil, acid from tomatoes and the like have all left it looking very unsightly. This latest marking is the worst and I really don’t know what’s caused it, although I’d hazard a guess its perhaps been produced by my wiping worktop down with a damp cloth that had previously been used with a trace of well diluted Fairy Liquid? But then why only in one long streak when I’d actually wiped down the entire surface? Sorry, unable to attach clear photo as lighting’s producing glare. Anyway, suffice to say that I’d never again consider using Caesar Stone.
