Comments (6)Lovely. My bathroom has the same layout and we are using white subways with chrome and a similar window. You have helped me see how mine might look in a week or two (we are mid-reno right now). The paint colour is really nice with the white - it is much like my bedroom - maybe I should carry it over to the bathroom, too, now that I've seen yours. Do you have a picture of the room from the door looking straight towards the tub? I'd love to see the whole window wall and the wall with the towel rack. Congrats on such a great job....See MoreMaster Bath Makeover - Before and After
Comments (28)More answers -- sorry if I don't know all the lingo: pharoah - I'd heard of starphire glass, but wasn't interested. I'm all about green, and having a greenish tinge to my glass was fine with me. skogkatt - the cabinet is only 12 inches deep (it's 24 inches wide, so not really able to be set between studs). We have a large linen closet in our upstairs hallway, and another in our bedroom, so those combined with the storage in the new vanity are more than enough for us. codnuggets -- yes, we have both a rain head and a handheld. Each has it's own valve and temp/volume control, so we don't have a diverter. It was a bit of a splurge, but I wanted the option of running both heads at the same time. Believe me, this was one of the more difficult decisions we had to make, since I knew so little about the technical stuff....See MoreMaster Bedroom/bath before and after pics DIY
Comments (18)Funny, funkyart, my house is a 1960's colonial...but I always wanted that old farmhouse. So we ripped out all (ALL) the wimpy moulding and baseboards throughout the house and replaced it with wide/substantial trim, Added hardwood throughout, and did everything we could to revamp the style. It's more of a colonial revival look throughout---with schoolhouse pendants, pedestal sink in the 1/2 bath etc. I bet you could make this work in your room too! I will post some pictures of the inside of the closet tonight so you can get a better idea of how big, and the layout etc. Pretty much, it is a wide reach-in. Not quite walk in closet, although it is big enough to walk into etc. just not to hang clothing on both sides. The entire closet is open, but closed off by the 3 sets of doors. 2 sets of the doors hold my clothes, and dh has one. Shoe cubbies fit on both ends (which may be may favorite part of the whole thing---Dh built them to fit shoes and purses.) The closet system is from Lowes, and I highly recommend it. You can customize it however you like and it really looks more $ than it is. We had priced out California Closets, and their bottom of the line style was almost triple the cost of these... and these are much nicer looking. If you can DIY, they are the way to go. Comments (30)Lovely bathroom. Did you use a schluter system for the entire shower or just the floor and drain? FWIW I like your bath so much we've been using it as a basis for our Master remodel. The color we selected for our cabinetry is a bit deeper brown and we are opting for a solid gray shower tile by Foussana. The difficulty we are having is finding a faux marble tile for the floor that doesn't look either lifeless or doesn't have a repeating pattern. Your floor tiles are very nice although I'd prefer either matte or honed on the floor. Sadly neither of those finishes ever seem to have the depth and wow factor of the gloss tile in your bath. I can't find a dealer in our State with your brand although we are still searching. We may end up with real Marble on the floor but that's not my first choice. Thanks for sharing your photos and details of your build. We already feel your pain on the cost and time frame!...See MoreArchitectural Notice
