Lower price would be nice but the dealer never moves on display pricing or sell for 1/2 off the regular sell price. They usually sell very fast since there are really only two places to get higher end appliances. I see talk about the line being discontinued but I thought just the door was changed from single to french? Since Bosch owns the factory I have a hard time seeing this be a problem even if it happens since Thermador and Gaggenau are almost the exact same unit. It will come with a 5 year warranty from the dealer. As far as quality the boss also thought the Bosch blew the leibherr away. I cannot comment on mechanical components but everything else looks feels like a different class. The Bosch is coming home.

My first built in GE monogram died after 10 years and I replaced it with another GE Monogram. The second one lasted 9 years and just died last week. They both had problems with the outside ice dispenser. With the first fridge within the second year, I spent $495 to fix it the ice dispenser only to have it stopped working within 9 months later. With the second one, the ice dispenser also stopped working just after the 1 year warranty. This time, I just make my own ice using ice cube tray. Had no other problems with them beside the ice maker. When I went shopping last week at Pacific Sales, I was going for the cheapest built in available, GE profile, considering all built ins are about $4000 more than the freestanding one. The sales person recommended the Samsung built in. Just had it installed today, after a lot of issues with the installation. Would love to hear if anyone currently owns a Samsung built in fridge (I've heard this is a new built in model for Samsung) and your experience with it so far. I just pray that the new samsung fridge will work with no issues for another 10 years or so.

Actually, just to say, those are not the full model numbers. Full Kenmore model numbers are in format of xxx.xxxxxxxx (three leading digits, a period, followed by more digits). The numbers you reference are either catalog numbers or stock numbers, possibly from Sears.com web site. They don't cite full model numbers there. The full correct number is typically only found on the tag on the appliance ... although user guides may reference enough of the number to get a better handle on it. I found 79983 at Sears.com. The linked user guide references 795.7998* Searching SearsPartsDirect.com (for appliance parts) finds 795.79983510 74023 traces to 795.7402* which brings up 10 matches for parts (different ending numbers for colors and revisions). 795. indicates LG as the source manufacturer for both. There are reviews on Sears.com. Eighty for 74023 but unfortunately none for 79983. Reviews at other sources can possibly be found by Googling the stock numbers 79983 and 74023 or the longer model numbers.
