Furniture in small guest bedroom
Comments (3)Rather than a chest or dresser consider a blanket/cedar chest or a low chest that you can place on either side of the bed and use as an alternative to a second nightstand, you can store unused linens and it makes a nice parking place for a guest's luggage while they are visiting. With your space limitations, I would consider a small nightstand on the side of the bed nearest the window and then maximize the amount of space between the door and bed. Near your square(if it is a solid wall) I would try to place a chair on an angle with a small table. This really provides everything a short-term guest needs. Also, if you change the swing on the door so that it opens against the wall the room with look larger....See MoreBedRoom: Area Rug on Carpeted Floor and Under the Bed
Comments (12)I did that in my guest room - no problem at all. The carpet is pretty low pile and the rug is a fairly thick sculpted type oriental. I have no pad under the rug. I also have a very short, dense wool oriental rug on the carpet in my living room. That also works fine. I have all these rugs on carpet because I moved from a house with wood floors to one with more carpet. I hope to get rid of the carpet someday when I feel like moving everything again. So then I will need the rugs and in the meantime I can't stand the plain beige carpet. In another room I have a thick wool runner that covers the width of carpet from the deck door to the wood floor in the dining area. It has no furniture on it that holds it in place so it ripples a bit. I need to find a way to keep it flat....See MoreUsing master bedroom wall color in guest bed/bath too - thoughts?
Comments (1)Nope, not odd. Perfectly normal to repeat colors throughout the home. You can always add character to each room with furniture, towels, bedding, art, etc....See MoreGuest Bedroom Rug Placement?
Comments (6)Thank you! If rug is under the bed and starts in front of nightstands, how far should the rug come out from under the bed (at the foot of bed) in to the empty space of the room. I’ve included a picture of the jute rug I’m planning to buy. It definitely has height to it versus a standard rug height....See MoreJT7abcz
