WANTED: Kansas City, Looking to trade for mature Jacobs Cline Mo
Comments (0)I live in the northland area of Kansas City and have been building a hummingbird garden; looking to fill an immediate void where I want the bee balm. I have some 3" plants (Jacobs Cline) on order from Springhill Nursery, but they may not ship until later on; they said as late as October. I have English Ivy in plentiful portions, same with Virginia Creeper to trade. I have a limited supply of hostas, ferns, and salvia that I would be willing to part with (plant for plant) for a good healthy cluster or two of the Jacobs Cline Monarda (not interested in pink bee balms that are subject to mildew) Don't know the proper names of the hostas, but have some Japanese Painted Ferns. Also, if you are interested in tree starters; I have Hickory Nut and Pin Oak trees that take root like weeds here. Easy to find 1 to 2 feet starters on them here and there. Comments (20)Oh, rats! I missed this one - that's what I get for letting my new motorcycle obsession overtake my planty obsession, lol. :-\ Would have been a straight shot up the highway to Oak Grove, too! Dang... Anyway, I have a couple of mystery short daylilies needing a home that I've posted in the Exchanges if anybody locally is interested, would really like to trade for a solid deep red daylily that I'm seeing bloom right now, or a Red Ribbons spider daylily. Webkat, I sure wish I'd been to the swap - sounds like it was great! I still have stuff I haven't put in the ground yet, and keep finding purple ruffles basil that I am still freecycling that I sure could have brought in, along with hopi red dye amaranth seedlings, lol. Please email me next year for it, okay? I don't frequent all the boards much, but email I *can* remember to check. :-) Terri...See MoreEvergreen ID/Kansas City, MO Zone 6
Comments (9)Personally I love the pinning down to the exact possible cultivar but I think my friends will be satisfied hearing they have a Japanese cypress (which is not really a cypress). You guys are the best. :-) I've given them the information to look up so they can figure out what they have. Thanks again for your help in ID-ing this pretty conifer....See MoreWhat is your favourite public rose garden?
Comments (10)I wish I had seen all these wonderful gardens. Apart from the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and the Bronx rose gardens, I have been to very few. I was very impressed by the Barcelona Rose garden when I saw it 15 years ago. The rose is Barcelona's official symbol and they take it very seriously, and of course their climate is superb for growing roses.. The beds were arranged chronologically, as I recall, and the collection was comprehensive, well labeled, and spacious, the model of how a rose great garden should be IMO: namely both historically informed and delightful. But I think the BBG is also great and improving yearly. I'm so glad I'm able to hop over there whenever I feel like it. Meantime, I hope people will keep posting pictures of the wonderful gardens they visit. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g187497-d2625535-Reviews-Jardin_de_Rosas_de_Cervantes-Barcelona_Catalonia.html#photos;aggregationId=&albumid=101&filter=7...See MoreBrandon Garner
