Comments (6)Good looking flower Bob!! Love the colors. Wish it was a lot warmer here where I'm at ;(. Like Bill says- its been mainly foggy and not warm enough. And I'm in San Juan Capistrano. Pretty foggy today too and hoping for a warmer week to come. Chuy...See MoreQuiet around here!
Comments (23)Stush, they are cleaning the air, so that's something... Hopefully I have at least a month before the f-word gets in the forecast, averages smaverages. Made it to late Nov. last year. Good luck to everyone when the time comes! It will be an interesting cram here, with decorative things that usually occupy some spaces put away until spring. I've been forced into more reality time lately, cleaning and dealing with all of the junk that seems to multiply when one's not looking. It sucks being the only person with the magic to make things go where they belong. Gave Martha Stewart ample opportunity to show me how to do it right, but I'm starting to suspect she's not coming and I had to do it all wrong, alone. Oh well, her loss. I remain clueless and inept. My fav magnet: "Dust testing in progress. Please do not disturb the samples."...See MoreQuiet around here?
Comments (78)Yeah, we tried ProBoards from the old Weight Watchers message boards, and that didn't go too well. There were some people who kept up but some groups who checked in sporadically like my group got lost. I have a busy job that requires about 50 hours per week like funky said, lots of stuff going on. We have one more month in the semester and I am gearing up for an accreditation site visit, so anything home related is not on my radar at all. I can check in here, but I have no active projects going on. Really, nothing's going to happen here until mid-May....See MoreToo dog gone quiet here!
Comments (41)Where are you in 6b, Nancy? They've just announced it may go to the low 30s around here too which we were not expecting until the weekend. My husband helped me carry most of the trays of seedlings back onto the porch instead of having me cover them with Remay. I'm thankful he offered. The magnolias (star and the pink one) are looking just lovely as they always seem to do just before they get frosted. I've just completed inventory for all the daylilies in my raised bed area and hope I don't have to add any more to the "death list". We live quite near DC in an McLean/Tysons Corner. During our time here (38 years for me), it has grown from a nice suburb to a city so the plus side to that is that all the concrete may give us a bit more warmth. Frustation indeed! I heard the weather report on my way home from the dentist and it was 69 (highest it would get before dropping in the pm) so I wanted to dash out and do SOMETHING since the morning rain had also stopped. Off course, it started to come down pretty good again while John was helping me move in the seedlings. I guess maybe April is the cruelest month. Just have to bide my time. Meanwhile, I've ordered alfalfa pellets from the Tractor Supply Store and may be able to go get them tomorrow. If you order 3 or more 40 pound bags online for in store pickup you get $5 off per bag, making them $10 a bag now. I suggest you all jump on it if you have one of those stores near you. I think it's a good price. Lunch over now - so maybe I can try outside again to dig and separate Ice Follies from Pink Charm daffodils. Keep busy, keep busy.........See MoreValerie J
