ProMar 200 - Quality Paint?
Comments (6)Id say it has alot to do with your painters. Promar 200 is an excellent product. Duration is over 40 a gallon...... Promar is 20's.... Alot of times you get what you pay for.... I dont know the situation, but you have to consider the budget... You get what you pay for.... In most cases. Promar 200 is fine you people are silly...... Primer? lol right.... We use it everywhere at Ga Tech, and Emory..... I have been a painter for a looooooooooong time. Promar 200 is fine. you probablly use lame tools..... Get real - Purdy Moose Brushes and Lambswool Roller Covers are the key..... all the other stuff is toys for children....See MorePaint as Primer ?
Comments (2)A primers job is to seal and a flat paint will not do that. One coat of Duration is not going to look very good over a flat paint, nor is it going to perform very well. Two coats minimum is really the standard. One coat primer plus two coats finish is the best system. Some people do one coat primer and one coat finish and some just do two coats finish, but one coat flat plus one coat finish is really cheating IMO....See MoreSherwin Williams Emerald
Comments (4)Interesting. I have used a lot of BM Aura and like it a lot but wanted to paint a bathroom a SW color and they had a sale, so I decided to try Emerald. Basically the same price except for the 25% off coupon. I thought they were very comparable. No trouble with running. Areas I rolled blend just fine with areas I cut in with the brush. It was a very rough textured area and it did take me two coats to get all the nooks and crannys filled in but Aura takes two coats as well....See MoreI have a 'light' question for a pro...?
Comments (61)Mike - I am not sure if Laura has been using LEDs but I bought these daylight (~5000K) LEDs last year - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YEMKJE2/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Plus I had some of the soft white 2700K as extras from when I bought a couple packs for some floor lamps and small table lamps. The price this year is about $10 cheaper for the bulbs than what I paid last year. Mine are all non-dimmable which is cheaper, but the key is to go for the "100W equivalent" (~14W actual). The actual watts are a bit less than 1/2 the CFLs (14W for LED vs 23W for CFL). I can only speak for the Philips brand but I noticed that Amazon has their "Basics" brand with 6-packs of either daylight or soft white for around $20 for a 6 pack, which is not bad (am not sure of the quality though) - https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Equivalent-Daylight-Non-Dimmable-6-Pack/dp/B01MSMKBG3/ref=pd_sim_60_14?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=5J7B762QBAH2KS9PVGV9&th=1 I have the LEDs mixed in with the CFLs in my basement setup (and in the middle are 2, 4ft daylight T5 HOs). What I just realized is that the "daylight" LEDs are 5000K and the "daylight" CFLs are 6500K, so by putting those along with my 2600K/2700K LEDs & CFLs, I apparently created a nice range there!...See MoreAlly De
